'Cos I can't.

Just saw a baby being born in ER and welled up straight away.It struck me that since having babies I always do.

Anyone else a big soppy herbert?

TwoIfBySea · 21/02/2005 23:39

If I watch any of the shows on Sky channels, the reality ones, I well up really bad and go all gooey at the baby!

Nope, I can't either - I can watch those Discovery Health progs all afternoon and well up every time (luckily I don't often do it cos I am here instead )

shimmy21 · 21/02/2005 23:50

ChicPea · 21/02/2005 23:51

So pleased to read this thread, I thought it was only me.

marthamoo · 21/02/2005 23:52

I don't cry very easily

Births tend to make me

alexsmum · 22/02/2005 00:00

i'm exactly the same! I remember years ago before dh and i were old married s with kids we were watching a programme were someone gave birth and i was in floods, saying " its so beautiful" etc. I think he was vvv scared!!!

Skribble · 22/02/2005 00:02

ER baby was biggar than mine (11lb 6oz). I still cry but its more my eyes watering at the thought of the pain than any fond memories .

mears · 22/02/2005 00:05

I cry at TV births and I am a midwife

marthamoo · 22/02/2005 00:06

I think that is really sweet, mears (and only goes to confirm my belief that you are the nicest midwife in the world).

Watched that episdoe or ER 2 times now and don't remember them saying she was 6 months pg????

Obviously it was 'bigger' than a newborn as 'rules' don't allow them to show newborn babies.............but made me cry anyhow.

pinkwhistle · 22/02/2005 05:48

Nope, floods of tears here too. Before becoming a mum myself it never used to affect me that way. But since my 2 were born I am a marshmallow.

Never seen an actual birth (apart from myself in the mirror with ds) but I think it would be an awesome and wondrous thing to witness.

FairyMum · 22/02/2005 07:07

Always cry watching births on tv, but oddly not a tear when I had my own children....

anchovies · 22/02/2005 08:35

I'm so sad whenever I go round to my mums I put sky on and go straight for discovery health. Then I sit and watch intently despite having seen every programme at least 5 times already. And then I sob uncontrollably when they give birth. Very worrying considering when I was first pg I was sick after watching a baby be born by cs on "9 magical months"!!!
