Researching celebs' statistics - what do you lot know?

I've decided to do a talk at my school to some of the older girls about positive body image as I am alarmed at the way they do themselves down and what they perceive as being "beautiful". A lot of them equate happiness with thinness.

I thought it would be a good idea to show them in real terms just how tiny and thin some of their idols are, in real life, either by doing cut-outs or life-sized shapes on the wall. I also want to show them how air-brushed most cover girls are.

Do any of you know where I can find out some vital statistics of the likes of the Friends girls and pop stars such as Destiny's Child, Chrsitina Aguilera, etc.?
I'll do an internet search but would also welcome some fo your own ideas/thoughts.

Aloha, all this is very interesting and fits in well with the gist of what I hope to convey to the girls.

I think celeb mags are more to blame than we'd credit them for, esp as there are so many around these days. The celebs are portrayed as constantly on a social whirl, wearing glam clothes, shopping in the most exclusive boutiques and party-going, etc. It's very important for young people to realise that these people aren't necessarily very happy at all. Do you have any more info on the same lines?

I think I said on another thread a while back that it actually took me a while to realise that this type of lifestyle was actually not what would make me happy - and this happened in my late 20s, so I fear for the girls of 14, 15 & 16. The trouble is that the boys they go for are very often sexist pigs who are playing the big man and copy attitudes from rap artists, Ali G, etc who aren't especially known for their p.c. views on women.
