I think the only one we have is drining champagne on christmas morning and when we decorate the tree.

I am thinking of inventing some for the future.

Sounds/looks like a good game

There is a tradition my friends have which I may adopt when the children are older. Instead of buying birthday presents they all chip in to go away for a weekend. They always do something different and I like that idea.

Our Christmas day as children always meant stockings left outside our bedroom doors (as my younger brother was scared of Santa going in his room!) and then we were allowed to get them and unwrap from 6am. Then going in to see Mum (who would be still in bed) and telling her what Santa had given us (As if she didn't know!)
After breakfast we'd get one present from the tree (normally a book!) and then the rest of the presents after lunch.

We also had £1 each when it was one of the others birthdays. I think I'd like to continue unbirthday presents if I ever have 2 or more! Maybe a book or £5...!??

We have funtime friday which started when I would go to the pub from work and dd and dp would do all the things I don't allow. So they would eat sweets, go to the arcade eat junk food and watch cartoons. I would phone them and ask dd what they were doing and she would say cleaning! We kept up this pretence of me thinking they were cleaning. When we moved dd and I told dd I would like to be part of funtime Friday she told me in a solemn voice that it was not about cleaning.

We also have family sandwiches when dp and I are the bread and dd the ham which it just a big cuddle. Sometimes the dog joins in and he is a gerkin. We also have on a saturday morning mummy and daddy cuddle time when dd knows to amuse herself. Every sunday tends to be church, big sunday dinner and a walk or board games usually with guests.

DH and I used to have a tradition of going back to the restaurant we went to for our first date every Valentines Day. Unfortunately, 18 months ago our friends had their joint hen/stag do there in a private function room and the stag got v drunk and we were all asked to leave. That stopped our tradition as we are too embarrassed to go back

Our other funny one is when we go walking we will often take the paints with us. When we see a spot we like we will all stop and paint. People will stop and stare at us thinking perhaps we are a family of artistic geniuses when in fact we are just quite crap. People will usually mutter lovely so some other non descript utterance at us when they see our efforts.

I can see why
