I remember a thread about this before but I can't find it in the archive, so can anyone help with some suggestions?
To coincide with world book day, dd's school are having a book character day where they dress as a favourite character. Dd's favorite is Horrid Henry but she won't dress up as him. Anyone any ideas? She's nearly 8.
Thanks!

I tell you these threads are moving along so fast tonight, my typing just can't keep up. I'm still here though!

Erm...not one to cast spanners in the works...but how is Miss Hoolie a book character? (Well, I know they do have Balamory books but it's stretching the point somewhat!)

Hermione is fairly easy - but you'd need a cloak. I got a cloak, wand etc. on ebay.

I don't think they're too bothered. Last time there were about a trillion fairies, angels and princesses

I don't think they're too bothered either - I'm just being pedantic.

We found the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland nice and easy. By complete chance dd's friend turned up as the Mad hatter!

My DD's school at doing this too and I thought OMG what the hell will I dress her as. I now have the answer. Angelina Ballerina. She does ballet so has all gear, just need some furry mouse ears and a furry mouse nose and Bob's yer uncle!

I love MN.

School playground today was WONDERFUL. As mentioned below we didn't do dressing up this year, just bring in a favourite book from home.

At 8.45 there were little clusters of children around the playground all discussing books and favourite authors with each other. It was so inspiring.

I wish we could get them to do it more often.
