My holiday chaos - Or why you should never camp in the UK!

Having spent 10 days under canvass 9 of which it rained (and when I say rain I mean RAIN - non stop night and day) I think I am qualified to say that camping in the UK is horrid!

Everything is wet
There is nowhere to go that is not teeming with people escaping the beaches
towels never dry
the gazebo just doesn't hack it
playing games under an umbrella is not uplifting
walking to the toilet in the rain is not fun/exhilerating or good for the soul
If you take a little walk in the mud it covers everything
It is cold
putting the tent away in the rain is ridiculous
my feet and hands are shrivelled

WEIRD - kids don't seem to care!
Campsite in Cornwall was great

FRANCE HERE I COME

our diablo 900 took about half an hour to put up.

it was a problem taking it down in the rain - I just removed the top layer when the rain stopped for 3 mins and left it too one side while I got allthe kids to help remove the sticks and we bundled it into the car

It is pretty dry now!

Great design

Maybe its because we aren't used to it yet and it gets faster with practice.

mega - rain notwithstanding, I am still as we haven't done cornwall this year, first time in years, and I miss it...

We are heading off for pirately adventures in the Dales on out canal boat on Saturday - 10 days of doing locks in the pissing rain...Still, at least we have hot water and a proper cooker - though bugger all leccy as our leisure battery is tiny!
