Do you live in a terrace?

Or a creepy old scoobydoo type castle??

Just trying to picture the scene here.

PortBlacksandResident · 15/07/2008 14:02

As long as she didn't say "Are you my mummy?"

Lionstar · 15/07/2008 14:07

Oh B**cks, just heard two loud creaks from downstairs whilst reading this and jumped like a frightened cat. Repeat after me - "there's no such thing as ghosts, there's no such thing ...."

LilRedWhiskGers · 15/07/2008 14:08

Pinkchick - I had a similar thing yesterday. I was sat on the sofa with DD watching a DVD (bad mother, so shoot me) when I felt a cool breath on the back of my neck - no windows or anything open. I actually said, "hello", but got no response, just the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end.

As for Dyson - the £65 is well worth it. It sounds like your motor is starting to overheat. Ours did this and gradually got worse and worse until we stumped up the cash and had the man in. He replaced the motor, brush heads, elec cable, hose.... in fact all that was left of the old one was the plastic casing.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/07/2008 14:09

just a thought; there isn't one of those annoying talking ads open on your pooter with the volume turned on just a teeny bit is there?

hence not hearing it when you go into the hallway?

LilRedWhiskGers · 15/07/2008 14:10

I used to hear a little girl in my old house (well, it was new build when we moved in) and never felt alone when upstairs, but yesterday was the first time I've felt anything here and we've lived here for four years.

PortBlacksandResident · 15/07/2008 14:13

NB: When booking your Dyson repair man - don't accidentally ask for a reaper man.

LilRedWhiskGers · 15/07/2008 14:16

LOL

piratecat · 15/07/2008 14:17

PinkChick · 15/07/2008 14:21

PinkChick · 15/07/2008 14:28

LilRedWhiskGers · 15/07/2008 15:31

Let us know if the children notice anything.

youknownothingofthecrunch · 15/07/2008 18:02

Argh!

Homer Simpson is haunting my kitchen!

It made me jump a mile. Here I was, alone in the house, looking up scary ghost pictures to put on MN, when suddenly this weird croaky voice pipes up from the kitchen.

The hairs rise on the back of my neck, I creep forwards, slowly. I reach out to push open the door, when the voice comes again,

"All work and no beer make Homer Something Something."

I kid you not! 'Twas of course the stupid talking bottle opener pressing against something in the drawer.

Unless it was a ghost opening bottles...

certainly is a spooky Tuesday

Boco · 15/07/2008 18:08

Dd was just sick from coughing so much, she's getting worse and worse with breathing, really struggling and doing that breathless talking. Problem with camping isn't the cold, it's the humidity of the tent can be bad if you're wheezy apparently so if she's this bad I'll have to re-think - again..

I'm wondering at what point you call the out of hours GP - I don't know. I hate asthma type stuff because I know how it feels to not be able to get enough air so it makes me very stressed.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/07/2008 18:27

Bugger Boco

Did you mean to post that elsewhere though?

PC - if it's not phantom bogies, nor is it the empty child

Then it's probably a toy in a toybox somewhere with it's buttons being pushed.

Boco · 15/07/2008 18:43

Yes, I didn't post that here at all, how did it get here? Bloody ghost moved it.

PinkChick · 15/07/2008 20:06

HI, am back..kids didnt say anything and havent heard it since i asked her to go back and said goodbye..guess ill never know..oh and before i went to school (after id said goodbye) the hoover turned itself back on again!???
funny thing was i didnt feel anything scary just spooked, no bad feeling about it?, def not toys switched on as none of dd's things(or toys in play room) say mummy!????
