A more helpful guide to the OP - googled for you because I was worried about reference to gucci because I'd steer clear of Gucci - main luxury brands for watches that hold their value are brands like Rolex, Cartier, Breitling, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Omega etc

have an expensive (well it think it is, what would you call expensive? ) pink diamond Bretling watch. dh bought it for me , i love it!

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/07/2008 21:20

I have an Ebel, which I love. Can't find a pic of the exact model, but it's a cross between several of these.

Buy from jewellery quarter in Birmingham.

southeastastra · 05/07/2008 21:21

probably because i buy cheap watches for next, like the quirky ones but they usually break quickly

twinsetandpearls · 05/07/2008 21:22

If I were to buy an expensive watch I would not buy a fashion brand but a proper watch if that makes sense.

Have had a gucci watch before though but it was not flashy at all.

I would like a cartier.

I have a Reverso, which I love - totally classic, beautiful design, goes with everything.

Am wearing an Hermès Cape Cod Double Tour today - not an exciting mechanism or anything, but I love the sexy look of the double strap

notasheep · 05/07/2008 21:24

like roobie and expat i would love a TAG

southeastastra · 05/07/2008 21:25

if i had an expensive watch i'd break it

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/07/2008 21:30

I'm not sure that you would sea. I've had mine for about 9 years so far, and never done the slightest bit of damage to it.

WendyWeber · 05/07/2008 21:31

I have this Seiko - I love having the day & the date on it. (It's not delicate or pretty, but neither are my wrists & hands, so it fits just fine )

Quattrocento · 05/07/2008 21:31

Nah, you can't break a watch.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/07/2008 22:29

Found a better pic of the Ebel. Mine is like this except that it doesn't have the date on it.

donnie · 05/07/2008 22:30

I want a Cartier tank. But will have to want on for a while yet.

WideWebWitch · 06/07/2008 12:30

I had a Gucci watch but lost it about 9 months ago and it's either in our house somewhere or lost forever. But I had gone off it anyway tbh.
