Not me, but I remember somebody winning a Man United polo shirt in a raffle. They didn't like Man United at all.

A Man Utd shirt signed by Wayne Rooney. I support Man City (for my sins).

I picked it up and drove to the local hospice and dropped it off at their reception for one of their charity auctions.

A bottle of Radox bath soak stuff. It leaked all over my handbag and I don't even have a bath!

Not a raffle, but when I was about 9 or 10 I won a 45RPM single by Betty Madigan at a fairground by throwing a dart into a curtain ring. I was going for the 10 shilling note next to it; it made my dad howl, and i've never forgotten it.

Dine in only meal at a great local restaurant with a one year expiration date. One week before Covid shut everything down.

it was a school fundraiser and I certainly wasn’t going to raise a fuss that it didn’t work out given the restaurant barely managed to survive the disruption.

My mom won't scuba diving lessons. She was about as interested in them as watching paint dry. Also, she wouldn't have been able to smoke and do diving simultaneouslyWink

My mum’s neighbour won an 8 foot soft toy. Oddly, she didn’t want it. My mum helpfully suggested Matilda’s children would love it. Well, maybe they did, but I didn’t. And you try getting rid of a soft toy that big discreetly.

My mum still enjoys a good snigger when I remind her of this 20 years on.
