Which Childrens book cover looks most premium/giftable? A, B, C or D? šŸ“ššŸ©·

Hey lovely people šŸ¤—

I’m working on a keepsake book for parents to capture all the funny, sweet and completely random things their little ones say while they’re small.

I’m finally down to my last few cover options and I’ve stared at them for so long I genuinely can’t tell anymore šŸ˜‚

Would love some completely fresh eyes.
Which would you choose — A, B, C or D?
I’m particularly interested in which looks the most premium and giftable — as in, if you saw all four sitting together in a lovely book/gift shop, which one would you naturally pick up or be most likely to buy as a present?

Thank you! ā¤ļø

B or C but you're probably going find your thread gets removed since you're not permitted to advertise without going through the correct MN channels

None of them look premium, they all look like something you'd get in The Works for three quid..

Agree with above. Everything but the kitchen sink thrown in. Far too busy.

That’s a mean comment and not true..

So rude! I think it depends on the quality of the paper etc!

I don’t like the way the moon is covered in B and C. And perhaps the moon is too bedtime-y? So D for me!

I like A as the owl is more proportionate but the bottom line of writing is too close to the pattern on the left hand, side. Could the text be metallic to make it look more premium? And is it a hardback

Soontobe60 · Today 09:09

They’re all nice, but the cover doesn’t represent what the book is about - I’d think it was a story book.

yonem · Today 09:18

They all look AI generated which isn’t premium at all.

B doesn’t make any sense because all the elements are about sleeping/bedtime so you would think it was about bedtime stories, not things they’ve said while awake.

I think the owl looks a bit Duolingo so would give that a miss. For a premium book I'd really expect artwork though rather than digital artwork if your see what I mean - Firefly by Robert MacFarlane would be a good example of the middle ground that looks premium.

I think you could probably just get the lettering printed in gold on a textured cover and get a more premium look.

Just call it Little Words. That's your series title.

(Have you credited the illustrator? Can't make it out, sorry).

BrinkWomanship · Today 09:41

I think they’re very charming and it will have to be the finish that will make them look especially premium, otherwise TBH, they’re not communicating that to me. Very sweet though. And good luck to you.

TeenToTwenties · Today 09:47

I agree just call it Little Words.
By 2 my DD was barely linking words together, so don't limit it to 'Two Years'.

Agree it is quite busy and the night theme gives off bedtime story vibes in B, C and A.

If the yellow was metallic it would be nice.

BillieWiper · Today 09:53

I don't like the way the moon is covered up. Also think the night theme is a bit confusing.

If it's AI generated which it looks to be then I would not consider it high end at all. It would want a human illustrator.

Also I don't actually know what is meant to be inside the book.

'Their little words'; 'their' sounds a bit weird. Like 'them/they'. So yeah as others say just call it 'little words' or 'my little words'?

I was not ready for the brutality of this. Honestly thought thus platform was a safe space for Mums but I obviously got that wrong. Open to feedback but
