Female Sterilisation. Yes / No?

I'm 42.Two very difficult pregnancies in the past, both end up premature children. Big problems with periods in past. In my Perimenopause stage (I think). Definitely do not want any more children. Tried different contraception in the past, and the only one which was kind of OK was Sayana Press, but recently they find out the ingrediencies might cause tumour. So I want to stop it. Just in general I'm tired of contraception (using it for 25+ years). So I'm seriously considering Female Sterilisation. Are there other safer options / contraception? Need opinions from others so I cam decide. Something like ... will regret, anaesthesia etc doesn't apply for me. Thank you all.

Have you tried or considered the copper coil? Once fitted it lasts 5-10 years depending on which one you choose and it’s non hormonal so you don’t have any of the usual contraceptive side effects. The only downside is that periods for the first few months can be a bit worse while it settled but after that no issues. I’ve got one now and couldn’t recommend it more really, haven’t had any issues x

I was sterilised. Was really easy. Bit of a waiting list on NHS, Maybe 12 months. These days they take your fallopian tubes out completely, has the added benefit of dramatically decreasing your risk of ovarian cancer as that most commonly starts at the end of the fallopian tubes. General anaesthetic, day case, had a week off work.

I had my tubes tied at 30 after having my second child. Never regretted it, and was very happy to not have to think about contraception ever again. I tried the coil for a few weeks but could feel it the whole time it was in so it was a no go for me.

No I did not. I think that's the only option I do not want . Two of my friends had it and they both said only problems. And one colleague got twins while using this method 😉
