Does Planitherm Plus solar glass make a conservatory noticeably cooler?

Looking to get a conservatory with a roof made from Planitherm Plus solar glass. Apparently this will prevent our south facing room from turning into a greenhouse by deflecting 80% of the heat from the sun
Anyone got experience of this- does it really work or is it a marketing ploy?
Any and all advice gratefully received

I’m having my south west facing conservatory replaced in a few weeks and all the companies seem to be pushing this special solar-reflective glass. I turned it down after consideration as I really like the free heat from the sun in the winter and early spring and I prefer the glass uncoloured (these reflective ones tend to have a tint). I have lived with a south west facing conservatory with plain glass for 20 years so I know what to expect. One thing I would recommend is to fit roof vents - they are much more effective than side windows at letting the heat out as of course heat rises. Is your conservatory separate from the main house? Mine is separated by a full length tilt and turn window which we can use as a door. The tilt and turn means we can leave it tilted and locked allowing solar heat from the conservatory into the house eg on a sunny but cold day without compromising security. Then when the weather is too hot, we just shut the window/door to the house and open the conservatory roof vents and side windows to release the excess heat outside.

Blinds are also an option but we haven’t gone down that route yet.
