and you had 3 dc under 5????

Last time we rented we had major probs finding one as having twin boys seemed to be worse than having a dog re putting landlords off.

Are we going to have problems finding somewhere to rent at the mo and are we mad to even consider it????

Loads of houses to rent at the moment (people can't sell) but rents quite high I think. I'd certainly consider it if the offer was good.

Our house is tiny we're bursting at the seems, cute but we have to move sooner rather than later.

what price are they offering?

solo · 18/06/2008 13:37

I would. I'd bank the money(equity)and let it grow a while, then when house prices drop like a brick, I'd buy for cash(if you have that much equity of course).

OrmIrian · 18/06/2008 13:40

If it's a good price I might. If prices are going down in your area it could be a good time to do it.

If there's ever a good time to go through so much upheaval, this is probably it in financial terms.

MilaMae · 18/06/2008 13:43

Don't know the price, they are very interested coming round to view tomorrow.

We live next door to an outstanding school though so I have my suspicions they won't drop a lot however dp thinks the grab and run thing sounds good in this current climate. Am all of a dither now.

True, but if you have equity growing in the bank, and if you didn't you'd be paying mortgage payments anyway, so you needn't be worse off. True it's dead money paying rent when you could have a mortgage, but I'd definitely do it if I was in a position to do so at this time. I have two bedrooms, a boy of nearly 10 and a daughter og 18 months. Not ideal. I have seriously thought about doing it, but my house needs work before marketing it. If I had a good offer on it as is, I'd probably do it.

MilaMae · 18/06/2008 13:59

I know we've got a major space issue too. It is tempting. I guess I'd best see what they offer.

no

ronshar · 18/06/2008 14:03

We are trying to sell at the moment. I just wish someone would offer us some cash.
We are going to rent for 1-2 years and then buy a bigger house for 50 grand less than it will cost us now. Or at least thats the plan.

It all seems like such a good idea but we shall have to sell our place first.
Any one fancy a 3 bed in sussex, near the sea?

TheFallenMadonna · 18/06/2008 14:04

Do your children go to the outstanding school?

TheFallenMadonna · 18/06/2008 14:06

Oh, OK. Read the OP

DO you want your children to go to the outstanding school?

In answer to your question, I wouldn't. But that's because this house is just fine for us. 2 years ago I might have been tempted..

MilaMae · 18/06/2008 14:48

2 are starting the school in Sep,I'll have to apply for the 3rd in March so will need a rental in the catchment. However we are crawling up the walls,it's tiny and have 4 year old twin boys who need more space.
