Forget the big stuff - what really gets up your nose at a trivial level in your household? Rant on....

Dh leaves the car in gear when parked on the flat. I always forget and it jumps forward when I start the engine.

Dc always wait til I am in the bath before needing to come down for a long smelly sit on the loo.

The dog waits til I am wearing something smart for a change then slobbers over me.

Grrrr

The way my dad walks into my house as if he owns it. The way he interrogates me, as if to find something I have done wrong. The way he treats all his offspring and my mother, his ex wife, like feeble minded 8 year olds.

The way my mother treats me as an extension of my father, and if she is angry with him, will bark at me.

The way the children wait until the very very second I seat my arse before piping up "Can I have some milk?"

The way the cat shits in the garden.

LOL at all the above!
My DH "breathes" so heavily at night, especially when he's on his back, that it wakes me up. Several times!
He chews / picks his fingernails.
He doesn't do jobs unless I ask him to.
He tells ME to get a grip when HE has annoyed me....

The way my little brother used to scrape his teeth along the spoon as he ate his weetabix..aaargh!

DH has piles of dirty clothes all over the place, like a teenager, it drives me mad.

Also find it mildy irritating that he never turns off the dishwasher when it has finished its cycle.

DS2 just WILL NOT lie still for me to change his nappy - makes me want to scream.

Knakard · 18/06/2008 12:15

The way dh when he has finished washing up the wrings out the dish cloth by squeezing and flicking it from an unneccessary height covering surrounding area in dirty water splashes!

Only hovering the middle of a room!!

However reading this thread i can see how irritating i must be as i do most of the things everyone else as said, wet towels cupboard doors etc, and i know it drives him mad!

The way DH after making food in the kitchen washes and drys up, puts away, BUT never wipes the side down.

The way he will never initiate making a cup of tea but always wants one when i get up to make one.

the way he never cleans the sink after shaving and cleaning his electric razor in the sink.

Such little things that drive me bonkers.

DP leaves the door to my downstairs loo open all the time.

So when you are sitting in back garden you look through the back door then through the "left open" loo door and see the WC in all its glory. Usually with the toilet seat left up (by him). Drives me barmy....

DH puts shirts with their sleeves rolled up in to the washing basket, so I have to unroll them before putting in to the washing machine .

GeoffWode · 18/06/2008 14:42

DH also sneezes ridiculously loudly. I pointedly ignore him and don't say bless you. Occasionally he'll yawn really loudly too. It's just a form of showing off I think.

He also never ever remembers the correct lyrics when singing along, and makes them up. I spend a lot of my time muttering the correct lyrics at him.

SoupKitchen:
"The way he will never initiate making a cup of tea but always wants one when i get up to make one."

So, so true. My DH is currently in training to correct this
