Where can I find the perfect shoes for my little princess ?

Hi, my daughter has an end of year prize giving day in two weeks time. They all dress up for the occasion. I've bought her the most gorgeous dress, it's a Sarah-Louise special occasion dress. It's pale pink and has embroyded climbing roses on the bodice and rose buds sown around the waist. The skirt part is loads of layers of like organza material that looks like petles. It looks like a fairy's dress.
Tha problem is I need some shoes to go with it. The perfect shoes for the dress would be satain ballet shoes, but she has to walk a little way outside with them on.
Does anyone know of some shoes that look like ballet shoes that have hard soles? I don't want anything tacky looking and not sequined. I've had a look but all I could find was clumpy looking sandles or shoes.
I'd be really greatful for any suggestions.

Have you looked in BHS at the wedding shoes?

mummyloveslucy · 16/06/2008 18:04

Oh that's a good idea. I'll have a look on their website. Thanks.

here or I hear Crocs are comfy

MaryAnnSingleton · 16/06/2008 18:10

maybe some dance shoes from dance shop, you know character shoes in a satin fabric, if they do such a thing.

bundle · 16/06/2008 18:10

vom at the heels

ballet shoes would be perfect - about £8 or £9 and you can wear them outside for a short time, if you don't mind them getting a bit tatty.

mummyloveslucy · 16/06/2008 18:12

If it was up to her, she probubly would ware her crocs. They are strictly beach shoes imo.

Monsoon shoes seem like they would be erally uncomfortable to me.

Whats wrong with startrite for a little girl (or am I just really old fashioned)

I'm intrigued by this prize giving, as I've not come across one where school uniform isn't worn before. Do you get drinks and nibbles afterwards? (Because if not I think you should!)

mummyloveslucy · 16/06/2008 18:16

bundle- That sounds great, are you sure they are O.K to ware outside what about if she trod on a stone?
I don't mind if they get tatty. It's just for that day.

It sounds like an exercise in competitive dress-wearing to me

cocolepew · 16/06/2008 18:17

Aaahh they're sweet

LynetteScavo · 16/06/2008 18:17

these are lovely, IMO

bundle · 16/06/2008 18:18

how long will she be outside? is it a normal schoolday? if so, I'd take another pair to wear just for running around in (not to spare the shoes!)
dd1 and dd2 both have worn their ballet shoes outside for short periods like on way back from ballet class. i'm really not precious about them. a sharp stone would hurt i suppose but it depends on how long she'd be outside. hth

Of corse you get drinks and nibbles afterwards. That's the best bit!!
I also think the monsoon ones look uncomfortable. Lucy wares start-rites. She's had them right since she was able to walk. I love them too.
It's just that I had the idea of ballet shoes being perfect for the dress.

littlelapin- Those start rite caty's are lovely (she's had them before) but they don't go up to her size.

9.5 G in start-rite 10 G in clarks.

bundle- she wouldn't be ouside in them for long. She'd just have to walk up a small hill from the nursery to the senior school gym. They then have their prize day and we all walk back down the hill for refreshments in the juniors. Well that's what happened last year.
I think I might go for the classic start rite's acctually. That way she can ware them again.

wears, it is wears.

sorry.

Other than that, I second the ballet shoes suggestion. I always let dd wear hers to and from ballet. They can withstand a bit of walking.

mummyloveslucy · 16/06/2008 18:52

I know it's wears. My artistic nature just got the better of me for a moment.
