What’s the best chandelier style for modern luxury kitchens?

Trying to put the finishing touches on my kitchen makeover and I’m totally stuck on lighting. I want something that feels modern and luxe without looking like I’m trying too hard, you know? My contractor keeps suggesting “statement pieces,” but every chandelier I find is either way too glam or just… blah. The space has clean lines, warm wood, and marble counters, so I’m looking for that perfect balance between classy and contemporary. If anyone’s been through this or has a go‑to style, I’d seriously love some inspo before I lose my mind scrolling through catalogs.

Pooky lighting have some nice stuff which I think would meet the criteria

My personal preference is to keep kitchen lighting to task focused, so nice down lights. Anything fussy will get grubby quite quickly in a kitchen and would be a nightmare to clean.

We don't have a chandelier as such but we did inherit some hanging pendant lights in the kitchen of our new house. They are globes of various metallic colours which hang at different heights. I love them, they work very well in the kitchen but my goodness they are a bastard to clean.

We have chandeliers elsewhere in the house - these are also a bastard to clean, but less so as they don't accumulate grease and condensation like the kitchen light does.

A mid century chandelier came with my house and I have kept it. Once a yearish I take the crystals off (not as difficult as you would think) put them in those mesh washing bags and stick them in the dishwasher.

@ForPearlViper

Never thought of doing that! Will give it a go.

Where is it going? Above island, table? Middle of the room?

I agree something easy to clean. Not glass as it will dull with grease very quickly. Porcelain is good.

Look at Jim Lawrence, Devol, Original BTC, Lights & lamps, Dowsing & Reynolds, Neptune.
