Help! Mattress recommendations needed

I’ve just bought a new mattress. Cost us just under £1000 and I hate it! It’s one of those hybrid sprung memory foam things. We’ve had it for one night and I have had about 2 hours sleep, if that.

My back hurts (bum sinking in) and I was so hot and sweaty. DH was fine. He normally runs really hot at night whilst I’m shivering so I don’t know why I was so hot. I’m absolutely exhausted and in pain today and don’t think I can send it back now as we have used it.

i think I am going to have to cut my losses and just get a new one. Does anyone have any recommendations for mattresses that won’t leave me in pain????

Memory foam is well known for trapping heat because it’s so dense . You could try a mattress topper , but double check to see if you can return , lots of the big companies let you .
I would recommend dreams , they have a magic bed you can both lie on which then recommends a selection of mattresses , the lady that helped us then narrowed down our preferences and we were left with a selection to lie on in the shop . We ended up buying the one we had gone in to look at , but it was reassuring when spending so much that their system also thought it was one of the top choices for us .

Yes, Dreams..lay on the bed and it maps your body. I hate memory foam. The last one was meant to "Wick" heat away...it didn't.

Very much depends on your budget. We’ve bought a Visprung mattress this year to replace a John Lewis one we’d had for years. Both were ££££ but my husband has back problems and is very specific about what he needs in a mattress . Before buying the new mattress we made many visits to JL and spent a long time lying on the beds to test them before making our decision. Yes, we did look weird but we made the right choice in the end.
Also it takes a week or two to adapt to your new mattress because your body is so used to your old one.

Thank you. Should I give it a couple of weeks of the new one then? I just had such a bad nights sleep that I didn’t think it would get any better
