PW - Sorry to hear about your mum. She does sound as though she liked adventure.

How lovely of you all to get the Olive trees.

Do you think you'd be able to get that delivery man to deliver here?

zippitippitoes · 10/06/2008 21:42

i hope my kids talk about me like this

you sound so proud and she sounds lovely

AitchTwoCiao · 10/06/2008 21:43

oh zip, that's awful, i'm so sorry. it is hard, isn't it? my dad died when i was 23, it was utterly shit.

and COME ON you pedantic gits, you can get your knickers in a twist about haikidiki but you can't help a girl with monkey stew?

policywonk · 10/06/2008 21:43

Margo - maybe when I've finished with him

AitchTwoCiao · 10/06/2008 21:44

was it chop? or something like that?

policywonk · 10/06/2008 21:48

What a lovely thing to say zippi

Aitch, I remember you talking about your Dad on other threads. He sounds like he was a good guy.

Chop... still dunno. We are still on Gerald, not Lawrence (and definitely not T.E.), yes?

zippitippitoes · 10/06/2008 21:50

did you see the tv my famil y and other animals it was on when my children were little they loved it it was asundat eve all watch togehte rprogramme

AitchTwoCiao · 10/06/2008 21:52

deffo gerald, but older and more reprobate-ish. before he married lee, though. i can't believe i was allowed to read them, tbh. am off to investigate chop hunch. i also think it might have had something to do with peanuts, for some reason...

and yes, my dad was great. it's been a long time though. i do and i don't miss him. i wish dd could have met him, that's for SURE. and with every new grandchild he gets i think my mum feels that loss more.

AitchTwoCiao · 10/06/2008 21:52

totally, it was a great show zip, really lovely.

AitchTwoCiao · 10/06/2008 21:54

bushmeat? that's what you get if you type 'monkey recipes' into google... an odd moment for a girl.

MUST stop hijacking your lovely thread, PW. apols.

ranting · 10/06/2008 21:55

Ah that's lovely of those mad old bats mners.

Sorry to hear about your mum PW, I remember talking to you on here about Mac nurses. Sorry for your loss.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/06/2008 21:56

"bushmeat" sounds like a euphemism.

zippitippitoes · 10/06/2008 21:57

my parents knew each other from brith we have a sepia photo of them kissing when they were 2 qnd 3

so lovely that people can have a lifetime together

Marina · 10/06/2008 21:58

It's chop aitch
From The Bafut Beagles I think

Habbibu · 10/06/2008 21:58

I have always hero-worshipped the grandad I never met - mum told me so many stories about him, he's always been like a wonderful personal santa...

Habbibu · 10/06/2008 21:58

(is it inappropriate to be secretly pleased at having a "hard image" by accident, however briefly?)

AitchTwoCiao · 10/06/2008 21:58

that is adorable, zip.

and yes, i think it is somewhat euphemistic, vvv...

AitchTwoCiao · 10/06/2008 22:00

Bless you, Marina. i knew one of you freaks would have that information at your fingertips. oddly, if you google chop and durrell nothing comes up, perhaps it's his guilty little secret?

policywonk · 10/06/2008 22:00

So long Aitch. It must be hard that your Dad never met your DD. My mother kept dropping little hints at me to get pregnant when she was dying - I know she was thinking that a granddaughter (Dad has only grandsons) would be the best consolation for him.

That's amazing zippi.

Thanks ranting.

my condolences to you too, pw. she sounds wonderful.

theres a certain birdcall that reminds me of my nana. i call it the nanabird (not being ornithological, like) and like to think its her spirit or something popping in to say hello . i used to hear it in the mornings when i stayed with her and it makes me think of her breezing in to my room in the mornings and opening the curtains to the sunshine.

policywonk · 10/06/2008 22:02

Yes Habb, that is inappropriate

OP posts:
BoyzntheShire · 10/06/2008 22:02

habbibu - you do not have a hard image, sorry to disappoint!

Habbibu · 10/06/2008 22:03
AitchTwoCiao · 10/06/2008 22:03

i do tell dd about my dad, as it happens. in one ear and out the other at the moment, but give me time.

AitchTwoCiao · 10/06/2008 22:04

habb is as Hard As Nails. you people just don't know her, that's all.
