Pip assessment

I’ve just had my pip telephone assessment and while I think it went well I’m beginning to wonder why she said what she said when I can’t seem to find anything around it. At the end of the phone call she said that she will push for an award for me. She was so reassuring and seemed to be so lovely on the phone. I heard allot of bad stories previous to the phone call so this has startled me a little as I’m thinking is it to good to be true what she has said. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

It sounds like she believes you're eligible. Don't get your hopes up because it's more than her opinion that decides it but just leave it to them now. Very best of luck. Appeal if you don't get it, and don't take it to heart. It isn't personal and they don't know you xx

I have asked for a copy of the PA4 just to see what she has marked me if anything. It just really startled me after hearing so many bad comments about the pip assessors.

Thank you for your reply x

I reckon they get a good feeling for who is genuine and those swinging the lead. My assessment was really quick and painless too.

Without knowing anything about your situation - just on the basis of the words you reported I think I would infer that she warmed to you and liked you and will do her best to put your case well but perhaps isn’t sure it is guaranteed you will get it.

I've always had a good experience with the assessors. Very kind, patient, reassuring and friendly. But then again I got the award I was hoping for so that does cloud your judgement positively.
I never remember them saying they'd 'push for an award'. It was always explained they have no control or input on the award decision and are just there to ask questions. Then the DWP looks at it and makes the decision.

Maybe it was her way of saying your answers make you look very likely eligible.

She probably was trying to reassure you but as pp said dont get your hopes up.
You can ring and get a copy of the report which will be useful if you need to appeal or to refer to when filling in your next assessment. It won't give outcome but it gives scores which youll be able to get an idea of probable outcome.

Yeah I have rang and requested a copy. I got a text the next morning to say dwp had received my report.

I could not fault her , she was so compassionate and made me feel like I wasn’t going crazy about my recent diagnosis. It all just seemed to good to be true after hearing so many bad things.

I've always had good experiences with pip/adp assessors. They have always just chatted away to me. To be fair it's meant that my guard is completely down so they are always getting a realistic picture of my day to day life.

I had something similar said to me when I had a telephone reassessment a couple of years ago. The assessor said at the end of the call 'I will do my best to make sure you get awarded the help that you need'. And I was!

I’m glad to of found another that has heard this from an assessor. I didn’t know whether I misheard her or what it could even mean. Hopefully my pa4 comes in the post this week and I can see what she has actually said on the report.

thank you for your reply
