Martianbishop - DS has a question for Mr Martianbishop!

It's the Biggin Hill air show today and we live quite close by and have seen quite a few planes go over today.

Earlier on 2 planes (DS thinks they were Tomcats) flew over head at fairly low altitude and DS was jumping up and down waving at them. They circled and this time 4 of them came over lower this time, and they banked and split directly overhead.

DS is pretty sure they saw him the first time and came back to give him his own personal air show I cautiously advised that I thought it was unlikely that at that speed they could see much on the ground, but promised I would ask someone who might know the answer!

He is rather in awe of the fact that I 'know' someone who is married to a fighter pilot - in the way that only 8 boys can be

So if Mr MB wouldn't mind answering the question it would seriously enhance my credibility with my DS!

hahahahahahahaha .. the things you do to maintain credibility with young boys eh?

soapbox · 07/06/2008 16:36

I know

I didn't know it would be this hard to keep up - having to learn about football teams, cricket rules (yawn), Age of Empires III, Dr Who trading cards etc.

It really is quite exhausting - almost like going back to being eight again and relearning things through a boys eyes!

He is a bit too ill to answer atm, sadly. We were up all night (or at least most of it) and had to go to see the emergency out of hours doc this morning.

Re seeing things. in the past dh has said that at 500feet above the ground you can tell that a cow has legs. At 250 feet you can see that a sheep has legs.....250 feet is half the height of a power station cooling tower.

Not sure if that helps at all

Oh MB, I am so sorry

That does help re the heights - not impossible at all then!

DS will be really happy with that answer

I hope Mr MB is feeling a bit better soon!

MB - how are you bearing up? Will you get a chance for a nap?

NotABanana · 07/06/2008 16:41

Sorry to hear Mr MB not good today.

tortoiseSHELL · 07/06/2008 16:42

Sorry Mr MB isn't well, mb! x

Collision · 07/06/2008 16:42

Love to all MB.

soapbox · 07/06/2008 16:42

Jura - I can remember bits about being 8

But only things like taking my first piano exam and winning a dancing competition!

Not many every day memories.

Love to you and flyboy

Sorry Mr MB is feeling rough (I always think of him as Group Captain MB, actually, but that's probably more about my love of those WW2 films with David Niven or someone being terribly honourable).

Elasticwoman · 07/06/2008 23:19

Thinking of you, MB.
