Hi, does anyone know where I can buy beautiful, classic/ retro clothing for my little girl who's 3?
I love sarah-louise, pretty originals etc but as she's getting older I'd like somthing a bit different. She's been in smocked dresses since birth. She has gorgeous dark auburn hair in ringlets and very blue eyes. She is very tall for her age. Does any one know what would suit her well? It has to be feminin. Any help would appreciated.

Is Ziggie Smalls your kind of thing?

PortAndLemon · 05/06/2008 19:07

I agree. The older styles are always the best. The hight street now tend to look like mini adults or very chavey. I don't want her looking like a bratz doll at the tender age of 3.

my dd is 3 too. i get her quite alot from , ahem, boden. some stuff in h&m is ok if you pick wisely. monsoon of course is always lovely. my dd will never ever ever wear a crop top/mini skirt/ heeled boots or slogan tshirts. no no no way!

mummyloveslucy · 05/06/2008 20:09

She means Boden. Boden seems to be one of those things that divides Mumsnetters, like breast/bottle, state/private, fruit shoot/naturally purified spring water, hence the .

In bigger Boots, they sell a range called Jack and Molly which is lovely. 40s revival type stuff with lovely tea dresses and bloomers and smock tops. I got DD some bits and they are gorgeous. The colours are different too, peach and blue together, pinks and yellows. It makes a difference from the usual pink glittery nonsense beloved of the High Street.

shreddies · 05/06/2008 21:44

I agree, Jack and Molly stuff is very nice, much nicer than you might think anything at Boots would be

mummyloveslucy · 05/06/2008 21:47

Thanks, I'll look out for that. It's the pink glittery nonsense that my daughter loves. She must get her fashion sence from her father!
