DOn't know who the person in question is, but aren't the majority of reality-TV 'stars' fairly nuts to begin with? They're chosen for a special blend of stupidity, dumb gratitude for the 'opportunity' and the sort of vulnerability/self-esteem issues that means they will go totally bananas if pushed hard enough.
The thickest ones seem to survive the process the best (perhaps its easier not to get screwed up when you have the empathy/immagination of a piece of cheese) though when they melt down they do so spectacularly a la Jade Goodie.

I agree Aitch re her background - not sure what you mean by 'native' though, y'mean those with the looks to use and abuse? It is interesting and prone to a lot of criticism, but I tgink it may be a case of the path of least resistance..if you hgave no idea ahat you ant though (which she strikes me as having) it can only become a black hole..

She's a bit of a lost soul, I think.

i mean that while she probably isn't madly intelligent, she nevertheless has the nous to present herself in such a manner as to make opportunities for herself. such as getting through the BB auditions etc. poor lass, though, it's a pact with the devil.

They are chosen becasue they appeal to the main types out there and I think 'nuts' has a lot to do with the hedonism fo today - not being puritan at teh same time you understand?
