Baby and mum group in Lingfield?

Hi my friend has a 3 month old baby and no friends nearby with tiny babies, this would send me nuts not to be able to have the 'and does yours do this' conversations and moan about sleep deprivation and all that stuff... Anyone know of a group near Lingfield or East Grinstead?
TIA :-D

Not sure if there's one in Lingfield but definitely would be in East Grinstead. I am originally from Lingfield but no longer live there. Hope she finds one.

Me too she says she is lonely and that makes me sad.
Any idea where I can search for her keevamum? Is there a Surestart in east grinstead do you know?

I don't know, sorry I can't be more help...I go back to Lingfield fairly regularly as Mum still lives there. Will keep my eyes and ears open though for her.

There is a Surestart here and she could check out Lingfield Community Centre here - looks like Wednesday for Mums and Toddlers and Pram walk on Thursday plus music classes etc for slightly older ones. hth

There is (or was last year when I was in EG) a great Friday lunchtime group at St Swithuns in East Grinstead. The lovely ladies make sure that everyone is chatted to, and then they give you lunch and look after the babies whilst you eat. I think it was 12-2.
First Monday of the month theres NCT bumps and babes at Pizza Hut in EG, and Tuesdays theres mum and baby cinema at the Picturehouse. The Methodist church on the corner of Lingfield road has a toddler group with a baby area, but also a v cheap cafe (actually they only have suggested donations) where theres always someone who will sit and chat.

That is really helpful thanks a lot
Can you go to NCT stuff without being a member?
Thanks so much for that I really hope I can persuade her to try one or two.

Yes, you can just turn up to Bumps and babes - just check the website to confirm the dates.

The St Swithuns one was the most welcoming group I went to - think there were usually 5 volunteers, and they really went out of their way to chat to everyone, and as they were mostly grans, they were really sympathetic and a great shoulder to cry on. Would also introduce people who lived near each other, and make sure no one was left out.

I know it's not to be mentioned but netmums usually have a comprehensive list of toddler groups, and activities in the local area.

pamplemousse · 18/05/2008 20:22

Oooh wink wink, I'll have a peek there, thanks

The other thing to suggest she looks out for is the Family Grapevine - a free booklet which comes out about 4 times a year with a directory of all the local activities and groups, places to go, child/parent related businesses in the area etc. Library (and there is a small on in Lingfield I gather) should have a copies.
