Hello, I am new here but keen to here other couples opinions on this- so me and my partner have been trying to conceive now for 2 years without success due to me having blocked fallopian tubes. We have been told that we would need to have IVF treatment, however this cannot be funded on the NHS due to my partner having a child from a previous relationship, even though the issue is with me and I currently have no children. I am really wanting to take this further, possibly even to the house of commons if I can as I feel this is so unfair and I wondered if other couples are experiencing the same issues? As it seems some areas of the UK allow one free round in kind this situation and other parts of the UK one being mine does not. I would love to hear other women's stories as I stand by you - we need to fight this together as this is so unfair, as it feels like we are penalised for our relationships and where we live.

There is treatment for blocked fallopian tubes.
Time wasn't on my side so I had private treatment for fibroids, which were blocking one of my tubes. I went back for an NHS dye test and was told whatever I do, don't try and get pregnant in the meantime. I ignored them as I'd given up hope. Had my IVF appointment, was waiting for the schedule but yey, I was pregnant.
And my DH DC from previous so I wouldn't have qualified for free IVF.
It's totally unfair. Consider what is more important, having a child or having a partner. I seriously did.

Thank you for sharing. Sadly I have had all the investigatory appointments, so the dye test and the keyhole surgery to try and unblock the tubes all without successful so unfortunately IVF is my only option. But yes it’s so unfair being made to choose between where you live or who your partner is just because of the different guidelines up and down the UK which is now known as a “postcode lottery”.
