What do i do???
I paid the next installment of money (40%) after the brickwork was completed but then they didnt return my calls and i had to get the director's address from companies house. My dh, ds (1.5 - very intimidating!)and i doorstepped him on a sunday morning and he said the company was going into liquidation and there was nothing we could do. Later he rings up and says he can finish it - throug a friend for another 6k!!!!

I am going to try to tgake him to the small claims court - the company is listed as 'active' at companies house, but in the meanwhile, ive a building site in my garden which i wanted to get all safe and lovely for my wonderful ds to play in this summer.

I suppose my question is this - does anyone know a cheap but decent quality supplier of conservatories, and can any builder put them up or should i approach a different company? its a wierd size though - will that matter? its 4m x 4.5.

any thoughts - im going a bit mental over all of this.

check if you have legal cover on your house insurance if so they should be able to advise for free

zippitippitoes · 09/05/2008 16:10

you should be able to register as a crditor if the company is a limited company

liquidation is a legal framework

pooter · 09/05/2008 16:11

ooh thanks zippi - hadnt thought of house insurance - doh! Have already tried to register as a creditor but as the company is still listed as being active, i dont know whether it is actually going into liquidation or im being strung a line.

WWWoooooo hooooo - cod has spoken to me!!! hahahaha. its almost worth being in this pickle - actually, no its not, but its a definite plus poing. and no - i gave him cash because i am a complete and utter WALLY and can no longer be trusted to make any decisions. pooo.

Already been to trading standards, they gave me a template letter that ive used as a starting point to getting him to the small claims court before they go into liquidation - if that is actually happenning.

this site might help consumer direct

pooter · 09/05/2008 16:19

oh zippi, you are being so kind - ive already contacted them, infact when i rang trading standards their advice was just to ring consumer direct.

wel in your position i would be gutted

you sound quite brave

pooter · 09/05/2008 16:23

not brave, just angry! I keep thinking to myself, well, id rather be us than him in his stinky dressing gown and his purple feet. I mean - purple feet! something has to be wrong with his circulation. GIT. Also, when he came round my ds put some of his toys in his briefcase, and he didnt bring them back! That shoudl have rung alarm bells - who would steal a beautiful little boys toys!
