Just taken blinds down to realise there is a bit of mould behind the rail.

We are redecorating. How do I treat so that it a) won't return and b) will cover with paint?

Surely a steam cleaner with kill it (we have done that efore) but will it paint over?

not sure - we used to wipe with neat bleach which got rid of it but it always came back. would be interested in this too

when we cleaned the bathroom once we steamed a small patch in the corner but it peeled the paint of. It never came back though.

That is why I am tempted to steam clean.

Hope you get the answer from someone as I need to know too! We get mould in one corner of the ceiling but also along the edge of the bath where the sealant is. It's also starting to come through in little spots in some of the grouting. We have a shower over the bath so I don't know if this makes it worse. Will watch this thread with interest!

is there not special paint-on type stuff that you use before you clean and paint???

I am hoping I am not going mad thinking of this, but I am hoping I am right as our bathroom ceiling is horrid above our shower and we will be doing our bathroom in the summer, so was gonna buy some myself!!!

Well I was looking in homebase today.

There was a polycell mould treatment stuff and various mould resistent paints and sealents.

Hope this helps someone.

We have decided to steam clean and paint.

We have gone for mould resistent silicon and grout too, so I hope it all works.
