Clothing Brand Recommendations for Mid-30s in UK – Quality Over Quantity

Hi all,

I’d love some recommendations for clothing brands in the UK! I’m in my mid-30s and have been on a mission to cut down on fast fashion and build a wardrobe that suits me more, I had so many clothes from my early 20s still hanging around. I shop a fair bit on Vinted, where I’ve found some gems but also a lot of misses.

Recently, I came across a brand I hadn’t heard of before called Lily and Me, which made me wonder what other lesser-known brands might be out there. I'm finding the highstreet not particularly inspiring. I’m still a bit lost on my style, so I’m open to any suggestions for brands. Particularly looking for casual/day dresses that aren't Mumsey. Where do you all shop?

Thanks in advance!

You might want to move this thread to style and beauty, OP. You should get some helpful advice there.

I've heard of Lily and Me recently too but not bought anything from them. Looks a similar style to shops like Joules, Fatface and Seasalt - nice casual clothes in pretty colours. I shop occasionally at all those brands but only for certain things in order to avoid the "mumsy" look you mentioned! (As an aside, I find this interesting as I remember when Joules, Fatface and White Stuff etc were what all the cool MC teens wore years ago! Until the brands realized the mums had more spending power and targeted them instead!)

Hush is good for skirts and dresses. I recently got a lovely bargain from Hudh on Vinted.
