Toy people - something a bit larger than Playmobil?

Is there such a thing as a range of toy people like this? Lego and Playmobil both a bit small. the ideal thing would have a building theme but it's not essential. I don't know what to Google!

For what age?

Happyland from ELC if for pre-schoolers -they have builders/construction sets, or at least used to

Playmobil 1 2 3 is for small children. The ELC happyland stuff is very good as are the fisher price happy people or something like that!

For a 3 year old.

Happyland a good idea. elc website is unavailable at the moment (and they've got a discount code on there as a result!)

but playmobil are a bit small...

my ds got playmobil for his 3rd birthday on saturday and he loves it

choosyfloosy · 23/04/2008 18:32

ooh yes, playmobil is my fallback position - i love it too and so does my ds but i am buying a birthday present for a particular purpose and have been told that playmobil figures are a bit too small to fit the bill. just wondered if there was anything else out there. will keep on trying for happyland. anything else at all?

Mothercare have a bigger set, not a massive range so far as I've seen. Called Tolo, if I remember. We have a couple of bits.

Little Tikes used to do figures with their dump trucks etc or Fisher price Imaginext(?) range.

Minniethemoocher · 23/04/2008 19:45

Woolworths - they have the Chad Valley brand and do sets of little people, DD has some, can't remember the name of them though...

There is an early range of Playmobil for younger children.

Otherwise mega blocks (prob too young though) or Happyland.

GrapefruitMoon · 23/04/2008 19:59

Boy or girl? ELC Planet protectors are good for boys (or girls who like superheroes!) at that age - quite chunky.

Happyland is fab. Both my dc enjoyed a huge selection of Happyland and 'graduated' from there to Playmobil at around age 5 or 6.

bodiddly · 23/04/2008 20:10

Either ELC happyland range or the Fisher Price equivalent. My ds had the FP farm, zoo and train which he still loves!

I'm truly grateful for all - would have gone for happyland if elc website were working! i think i'm going to go for the construction worker set by pintoy = they are really big so worth a try! many thanks!
