Hi we are a two mum family with two boys aged 3 and 1. We live in east London and are debating move to chalfonts, gerrards cross, Amersham way. Would love to hear more about the culture and how diverse it is, I don’t mean demographically but are people in general open minded? Are there many non 2.4 standard families? We’d be sending the boys to private school most likely so any insight on areas and good inclusive schools would be welcome

Hi,
I grew up there, long time ago now. Not overly diverse, but given the good schools there is an increase in families moving to the area who priorities education (think Indian, Chinese).

Sorry didn't read your post in full. It's a bit snobby, like most "good" areas, but not to the extent that you'd have issues.

We moved to GX a couple of years after 20+ years in North London. We found that ex-Londoners migrated towards each other so we've ended up having a large friendship group of fellow ex-Londoners. As such, the diverse outlook on life hasn't changed at all, just the location.

My impression from the shopping areas is there is a large Indian community in GX/Chalfonts these days, (I'm assuming moving out from Slough or London?) Massive change in 40 years.

I grew up in the area (Chalfont & GX) and it is reasonably diverse. I went to school with people from a range of ethnicities & religious backgrounds. Lots of people move out that way from London.
