Your thoughts please.

btw I read a great article really which argued quite cogently that we are almost certainly sprites in a computer simulation.

(ooops have I said too much?)

Of course UFOs exist. There are some objects which fly (or are flung, whatever) which have not been identified.

And we only have assertions. And proofs based on them. I'm not sure that I exist, anyway, so Nessy hasn't got much hope.

Fillyjonk · 15/04/2008 09:39

does loch ness not connect to the sea?

iirc there is an underground tunnel to another loch.

it is hugely deep too

I have been there btw and so am an expert

But surely, if you accept the evidence of your senses (and I know it's a big if) it's easier to prove that, say, toothbrushes exist, than that Nessy doesn't exist?

NotQuiteCockney · 15/04/2008 09:40

Don't think loch ness connects to the sea - it's not salty.

Unless of course there's some sort of filtration system in the tunnels?

Fillyjonk · 15/04/2008 09:41

oh that is a good point

accept it might be easier, that doesn't make it more valid though

Thread - how do you know when you look in a room that the Loch Ness Monster is not just in another room?

Threadworm · 15/04/2008 09:43

Can you prove that there is not some sort of infiltration system in thwe tunnels?

Fillyjonk · 15/04/2008 09:43

no it doesn't connect to the sea, I completely made that up

dp points out that there are probably underground tunnels connecting to the sea. otherwise, where wouldf the monster come from?

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 15/04/2008 09:44

I'm not sure what an infiltration system is. Of course that makes it harder for me to prove it's not there.

I think the Loch Ness monster winters in the homes of MNers. We sit still more, and clean less, so hiding is easier.

NotQuiteCockney · 15/04/2008 09:45

Is the Loch Ness monster maybe a dinosaur zombie? That would explain a lot, how come there's only one so long after the others all died out etc etc ...

Threadworm · 15/04/2008 09:45

The infiltration system was built my illegal monster-smugglers to get Ogopogo into the country without documentation.

JossStick · 15/04/2008 09:46

NQC

That's it - Nessie hides under a pile of washing and scuttles from room to room.

NotQuiteCockney · 15/04/2008 09:47

Is Sasquatch here, too?

JossStick · 15/04/2008 09:47

And i believe there is a Yeti in my biscuit tin.

JossStick · 15/04/2008 09:48

x posts!

UnquietDad · 15/04/2008 09:48

There is an underground water-passage leading straight from Loch Ness to the River Thames, as any fule kno

Psychomum5 · 15/04/2008 09:49

of course it does!!!!!

there are many things on this earth we have yet to discover or prove, this is one of them.

tis either that, or maybe someone shoved their evil MIL in the loch and that started all the rumours!

AMumInScotland · 15/04/2008 10:48

The National Archives of Scotland has files about the Loch Ness Monster.... unfortunately they only contains press clippings, and details of previous searches - that always disappoints the visitors for some reason....

saltire · 15/04/2008 10:54

Of course she exsists. Every Scot knows that - they teach children about her in schools

southeastastra · 15/04/2008 10:54

some bloke has been looking for it for 20 years odd hasn't he. he makes little nessie models for tourists and lives in a caravan. he's only young too
