Hi I live in a block of flats. Not a big block 9 in total we have 2 visitor parking spaces. One neighbour parks their other car in one of the visitor spots. They know we have one space each. Another neighbour has someone staying been here for over 2 months now and also utilising visitor spot. So no actual space for real visitors. What wouid you class as an occasional visitor ?

You honestly could be one of my neighbours as it’s so similar to me. I live in a small block of flats where each flat has two allocated parking spaces each. Right outside the block are two visitor parking spaces. Unfortunately when we moved in, the builders didn’t put markings of the allocated spaces or visitor parking on the ground (or even lines) and the landlord won’t do anything - so people use it as a ‘free for all’. The visitor parking outside the block has been ‘claimed’ by one of the residents of the flats, because her allocated spaces are right at the back of the car park - she has claimed the visitor parking as her own. She has literally had a go at other residents for parking in it. If visitor spaces are kept open, it wouldn’t result in visitors parking in peoples own personal spaces.

In terms of you, I would say the ‘permanent’ visitor needs to find suitable parking and not park in the visitor bay. And the other person, I assume they are like my neighbour and the visitor spot is the closest to access? Or do they have multiple cars?

Hi yes sounds similar. Yes one has multiple cars and one parking spot. I just want it to be fair for all if having an actual visitor.
There is parking on the road for the permanent visitor who ironically hardly moves the car.
