Sainsbury's have just called to say they need to see 3 forms of ID when they deliver our order tomorrow - is this usual?

This will be our third or fourth home delivery from them, it's always been to the same address and we always order more or less the same stuff. I had an email from Sainsbury's today which I deleted without opening as there were 2 spelling errors in the subject title and it was from an odd sounding email address and now they've just called to say when they deliver tomorrow they want to see 3 forms of ID. Just sounds a bit odd - anyone else had this? Thanks.

Yes, I called their general enquiries line today who said they would check and after waiting for a while they put me through to their online groceries department who said that all their 'security matters' are dealt with by a separate company who would have sent me the email and called me. The woman I spoke to then checked with that company who said that it is their policy to carry out random checks to ensure that their security systems are operating ok. Seems as though the multiple spelling errors in their email was coincidence and Sainsbury's were not identified as the sender as it came from this separate security company and not Sainsbury's themselves.

I am satisfied that there is nothing dodgy going on. Having said that, I have gone ahead with the cancellation and have asked all my details to be removed from their database. The whole point of ordering online was to save time - the amount of time this has taken to sort out both yesterday and today at work whilst I was put on hold and asked to ring other numbers, etc meant that it would have been quicker for me to actually go the shop.
