Travelling and feeding on flight with newborn

Hi, I am travelling on a 7 hour flight with my ten week old. I usually breast feed with either pump or formula top ups.

Do you think it's worth trying to fly with some frozen breast milk? Working out how to feed on the flight. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You can take pre-made bottles on as limits don't apply, they will look at it though so be prepared for that. Do you use a brand where you could buy the smaller pre-made bottles? Would imagine that would be by far the easiest option for formula.
They will warm milk for you, or at least I've been offered that on all my flights with baby. I was EBF so didn't take them up in it but they offered. I don't know if they will actually make up powdered formula for you. The easiest way would be to just BF imo but I don't know if that's possible for you.

You cannot take frozen breast milk on the plane with you. https://www.gov.uk/hand-luggage-restrictions/baby-food-and-baby-milk

I flew very similar length to take 2nd baby back to posting at 8 weeks after having him in UK! Have always found airline staff really nice when you have a baby. Good luck!

Thank you @Heirian I have prescribed formula for her so wouldn't be able to use the pre-made ones. I will try to primarily BF was just a little worried about supply so might have some formula as a back up just in case.

I'd breastfeed primarily and take ready mixed formula with some sterile bottles. You can get the disposable sterile teats so it's less bother.

Is your baby very underweight? (Mine was so I get the anxiety). I’d just focus on breast feeding for the flight and transit time and not trying and manage top ups on board. It’s only ten hours.

@Mumoftwo1316 @Sleepygrumpyandnothappy Thank you - yes she is underweight which makes me worry about her not having enough milk for the flying time. I am going to try to be positive though and focus on breast feeding. I have a week until we fly so hopefully things will get better in the meantime :)
