What airline is best for travel with the kids

Hi All,
We are thinking about going abroad this year for a week with the kids and I wondered what airlines or tarvel companies people have had a positive experience using where you get any sense of being able to plan your trip to suit what you want to get out of it?

Over the years we've avoided flying because its all too stressful - and we feared the stressy experience would ruin the overall holiday but we've kinda thought thats a selfish approach and not fair on the kids (2 teens and an 11yr); we should get on with it and give them the experience of a holiday abroad.

At those ages, it really doesn't matter.
Go for the airline that offers a direct flight to a place they want to go, from a reasonably local airport.

I wouldn't call them kids ( little kids).. but Jet2 has always been wonderful for children.

What aspect of it have you found stressful before? At the age of your kids there should be no stress at all.

How far are you wanting to go?

Been lots of times since son was 3 months old and in my opinion, most of the short-haul operators are pretty much the same.

I like Virgin or Emirates for long-haul. Though we're trying Aer Lingus in 3 weeks for the US for the first time.

I guess it all depends on what you are wanting and which parts you found stressful so you can avoid them! Though, honestly, the only thing that's ever stressed me out is busy security and myself!

At those ages, surely the only things that would be stressful would be the same things that any adult would find stressful?

I think you’re making this a rather bigger deal than it needs to be. Your children are plenty old enough to be responsible for their own stuff, getting to the bathroom etc in the airport. If you are going abroad for a week, presumably this is a short haul flight so anywhere between two and four hours I guess? I don’t really know what specific stresses are involved here and regardless of the airline you are not spending a great deal of time on board, so it shouldn’t make a huge difference to the overall holiday? Unless I’m missing something.

Thanks so much.

I tend to have a bit of a worry-complex, so am probs over thinking it.

I guess once your butt is on the plane, it's as good as done. Just don't wanna get there and find we've not ticked a box or paid a charge that we should have and we end up not able to go or something.

Your probably right. I do tend to worry about not having enough to worry about. 😁
