St Faiths Primary is lovely. I think Spixworth is very good too. Are you thinking of moving to Norwich then?

Hethersett. Recent ofsted report is "outstanding". But not a primary school, its a first and nursery school, then feeding to Hethersett Middle.

Little Melton would be another choice. Which is a primary school.

St Faiths is a proper village - it has a school, small post office/shop, community centre with small swimming pool/gym. Lots of jumble sales/church fetes etc. Very close to the airport and about 15 mins into Norwich city centre/25 mins from the coast. School is good. It is north of norwich, and I know that if you live south, ie around Wymondham, then they have the best high school in the area. However, I'd go for north of the city every time, slightly cheaper and much easier to get to the beach!

I am an incomer and much prefer the south side - sorry Surprise!

Hethersett is quite large as villages go but it is very friendly, its not the type of village where you never really quite fit in if you know what I mean.

Little Melton is more of a proper village, it has a pub, shop, park and thats about it.

Both feel quite rural though, yet only about 6 miles outside Norwich.

Fimbo - no worries! I'm from Sheringham originally so I love the coast - only live this far inland for DP's work, and we're currently planning to move to the south . But I really like the St Faiths area for all the old houses etc. Hethersett always strikes me as quite modern. We have friends in Little Melton which is okay.

Mulberry - as far as the airport goes, you do hear some plane noise, but we're not under the flight path itself. And it's quite interesting as you do get the Red Arrows landing and taking off every now and again. We do get helicopters once or twice a day, but tbh you don't really notice it.

My kiddies go to the schools in Loddon ( actually a very small town) and they are excellent! it is about 15 - 20 mins away from Norwich.

I live about 20 mins away from the schools though
