Which site is it? tbh there will prob be a copyright issue but who is ever going to come after you? perhaps if you were selling them by the hundreds then that would be a different matter.....

LazyLinePainterJane · 29/03/2008 19:50

oh good lord I should hope so....look at all those markets around London and other places flogging their own printed t-shirts. Go for it! I think they just have to protect themselves.

Unless it's Metallica of course, they're right knobheads about that sort of thing

K999 · 29/03/2008 19:50

Also, how many people photocopy bits of books/mags...these things are protected too....but who would ever know???!!!!

Nbg · 29/03/2008 20:00

its on photobox

Asda won't put photos on cakes unless you own the copyright. So even after buying a print and swallowing my embarrassment, they still wouldn't make a Robert KIlroy Silk cake for my nan's 70th!

I think that technically you should obtain permission but as someone said, who will ever check?

Nbg · 29/03/2008 20:05

pmsl at rob silk cake

It is a breach of copyright as a photograph once taken is protected. It is due to the artistic style of the picture. I doubt 1 would be noticed though.

Nbg · 29/03/2008 20:11

gahhh

i don't know what to do now.

If I were you I would go ahead.....it would cost them money to come after you and its not really worth their while tbh.....its not Nirvana's cover is it? Cos I have a fab picture of my nephew swimming underwater when he was 1!!!

Nbg · 29/03/2008 20:16

Asda made me a Lionel Richie cake..(for my sister I hasten to add!) The pic was from an album cover though, not sure if it makes a difference.

I don't think anybody will try to prosecute you if you don't try to sell it.
