Have done a search but cant quite find the help I need.
DD will be 7. Wants a biggish party at an outside venue. Have only ever had parties at home till now. Had a small party at home last year which was disappointing as it poured down so I had to just do indoor stuff.
Most of DD's friends are boys so I really need to appeal to them - no girly stuff or art and crafts. But not football.
Have narrowed it down (I think) to a trampolining party; or a basic soft play party (I hate these but she loves them); or a disco games type party.
Have never been to a trampolining party so for that reason it appeals but is this usually a success with 7 to 8 year olds esp. boys?

a trampolining party sounds great esp for the boys to burn off their energy. Our local gym has a hall and they hire out bouncy castle / go karts / trampoline and you can do 1 or 2 of them. Some partys have then put some footballs out and a table with some arts and crafts on.

Don't know what your budget is, or where you are, but have you considered Go Karts like these?

Trampolining - depends on the 7yo boys in question. My DS is only 5 but he would love it, but I could see some of his friends thinking it was "girly". It also depends on the organisers and how good they are at engaging the boys.

I think they would probably love a trampolining party. MY DD is 7 and would be exited to be invited to one, and all the kids seem to love the trampolines when they have them out in the park round here.

Me again. Thanks for replies so far - have looked into go karts - it is a possibility although expensive. Has anyone been to one of these? They apparently only have 4 on at a time (and no space for other activities) so do the other children (say you have 16 or 20 at the party) get impatient?
Any more experiences/views of trampolining parties welcome.

The Go-Kart party DS went to they had a bouncy castle at the other end of the hall (sports hall) - and some of the DC spent a lot more time on there than on the karts -but DS just went round to the back of the queue for the go-karts again (and again and again) - he loved them!
