Tanning naturally - help me!

Hello 👋🏼
I am looking for tips/peoples experiences. I am due to go on holiday in June & my skin is prone to burning then just going back to its natural colour, completely skipping the tan phase! I am just wondering what everyone's experience to sun beds are? (I have pale skin but not the palest, probably skin type 2 on the Fitzpatrick scale) Do sun beds help the tanning process? Are they worth it? Any products recommended to help? It's not even just a how I look thing for me as the burn obviously hurts 😅 I'd rather avoid it/minimise the amount I burn so I can enjoy my holiday fully but also hopefully get a good tan out of it too!
Any tips or tricks I am grateful for!

No no no. Not worth it. Just use a gradual tan moisturiser a week or so before you go if needs be.

Fake tan and sunscreen. I'm fair, and burn not tan, so I use a factor 50 once a day type sunscreen, and I reapply it after swimming / towel drying etc. Also reapply round things like shoe straps that might rub it off.

Just use plenty of factor 50, it's not worth the skin damage, ageing effects and risk of skin cancer

Do you realise that tanned skin is damaged skin? Its a protective act on the skins part!
Fake tan and factor 50 is the answer! Enjoy your holiday.

I forgot to mention in my post that I do use factor 50 & reapply it throughout the day! I was just wanting some opinions as sun beds have been suggested to me by others to help me not burn badly but I have never used them before so a curious about it all! Thanks for the replies though ☺️

Wow do tanning beds still exist? They’ve been illegal in Australia for nearly ten years.

There’s no such thing as a safe tan unless it’s out of a bottle.

Yes and no. The idea of a base tan is you can withstand longer sun exposure before burning. 10 minutes without a base tan, 40 minutes with a base tan. So even with a base tan, you’ll still burn unless you’re wearing SPF.

I am fair and used to frequent the sun beds for vanity reasons, I had to absolutely hammer in the minutes to get the slightest bit of colour.

It’s really not worth the damage you’re doing to your skin. My 7 step skin care routine would cringe at the amount of ageing I must of done to myself in those sun bed years!

Get a good spray tan and whack on factor 50.
