Judge Judy No GIF by Agent M Loves Gifs

Just that. There are a few celebs that I just can't bear to watch on tv etc but I don't know why. I'm sure they are all nice people but I just find them annoying etc. For example:- Amanda Holden, anyone from Towie etc, Holly Willoughby, Philip schofield, ant and Dec, Allison Hammond, tess daily, Vanessa feltz, aj adudo, Rita ora, gregg Wallace, Stacey Solomon, Alan Carr, James corden, tv/radio presenter Chris Evans, johnathin Ross, Denise van outen. There are probably loads more but thought I'd better stop there as I can feel my blood pressure rising!!!!!!!

Yes to Rob Rinder. Find him unbearable. Supercilious and sneery. Also can never warm to Monica Galetti and I know that's considered a bit of a crime because she's so cool. But even when she's not in her tough TV persona, she seems humourless and cold.

Oh gosh, all of these! And more than have been mentioned in the comments.

It's because they are all inane dimwits. It's a sign of how low society has fallen that we allow these people a platform.

SidekickSylvia · 30/09/2024 10:53

I think all of mine have already been mentioned, apart from one; Christian Jessen. Most of them I can put up with or turn over and not give another thought, but for some reason Christian Jessen actually makes me recoil from the tv.

xpets · 30/09/2024 10:55

Just Holly Willoughby, it's that squeaky laugh and voice that cuts in and out like she's lost signal.

I know she can't help it but I can't listen to that.

David Walliams has a core with less photons of light in it than the absolute lowest depth of the Mariana trench.

I'm not entirely sure how Nick Grimshaw gets prominent jobs in the public eye, and there's a load of people who fall into that category, videlicet Patrick McGuiness, Hunniford, Prue whatshername. A certain emptiness to the eye, a front that's too insincere.

Philip Schofield, obviously. Before and after his tawdriness was exposed. And the shapeshifting monitor lizard that is Cliff Richard.

Dec and Ant, the most pedestrian and magnolia option on the earth, I truly don't understand any part of their whole thing. Labotomy TV. I don't think they themselves even enjoy it and haven't for years.

John Barrowman gives every indication of being a complete boundary-crushing horror.

Billie Piper's ex, Lawrence something. Chilling, he looks like a beige custard skeleton and has some really awful opinions and views.

Femalefootyfan · 30/09/2024 11:22

Stephen Mulhern
Amanda Holden
Graham Norton
Jonathon Ross
Tess Daly
Philip Schofield
David Walliams
Bruno Tonioli
Russel Brand
Helen Skelton
Paddy McGuiness
Alan Carr
Louie Spence

I’m sure there’s more

Alectoishome · 30/09/2024 11:26

David Walliams doesn't count as being disliked 'for no apparent reason' in my opinion as there is clearly something very very wrong there and I think most women can intuitively sense that on at least some level.
He makes my skin crawl.

Femalefootyfan · 30/09/2024 11:27

Lorraine Kelly
Eammon Holmes

I always get the impression those two feel genuine contempt that their viewers can stand watching the mindless junk they present.

Taylor swift. I just have never been able to stand her!!!

Every photo I've seen, she looks like a braying donkey.

Seems like a savvy businesswoman, though.

Actually an Ocado delivery driver told me he delivers to him and he’s lovely, comes out, helps get it off the van, chats away.

I do wonder how much is public image v reality.

Amanda’s public persona seems over sexed, gobby, fake and self obsessed. I think that’s why so many women don’t warm to her.

I know someone who used to work with Piers Morgan and she says he's actually very nice to work with, very considerate to all colleagues, very pleasant, good mannered and good natured is what she said.
Clearly his public persona is built around being antagonistic and controversial, doesn't mean he's not generally decent. I don't necessarily share his viewpoints but I prefer him to many mentioned above who come across as robotic, all bleating their inane drivel from the same script. Most of them have never voiced a genuine opinion on anything in their entire careers.

BettyBardMacDonald · 30/09/2024 11:37

Can't stand that actor who was in Barbie.

Will Ferrell makes my skin crawl.

rainfallpurevividcat · 30/09/2024 11:38

Not keen on Nick Knowles. They do some great work on his TV programmes but I can't quite accept his near national treasure status.

LyingPaintSample · 30/09/2024 11:40

Craig Revel-Horwood, who directs his ablist bullying at Chris McCausland, a BLIND man who's absolutely slaying the dance floor on Strictly. Yet this jumped-up nasty little cunt is telling him to sort his facial expressions out?! Erm..He's blind?! Horwood can get fucked tbh, with his blatant disability discrimination in plain sight. I don't watch it but I've seen on insta and it makes me so angry. Chris is awesome in the true sense of the word.

Judy Dench there is just something so smug about her . I also get the impression she thinks she's above everyone.

Oh and she really isn't! I have friends who are neighbours and they say how lovely she is!

I think that is uncalled for. Chris knows how to smile and use facial expressions on stage, he is a comedian and presenter. However he has not danced before or acted in that kind of way, so it's fair comment. It's not ablist. He says it to lots of contestants.

And the thread is "celebrities you can't stand for no apparent reason". You gave a reason why you can't stand Craig.

Chris is a great contestant and gives as good as he gets, too. He can get away with it because of being a comedian. He can say things Brendan Cole would have been pilloried for. He's just brilliant.

Catandsquirrel · 30/09/2024 12:00

I would never say I can't stand her as I don't know her but I simply don't get the hero worship of Beyonce. Excellent singer if a bit warbly for my taste, dancer and performer, seems to take some risks and have her finger on the pulse. Hard worker, very attractive.
Great. I don't get the breadth of the acceptance of the image she's put out. I've no desire to have access to have access to celebrities' personal lives etc, maybe she's just private and not very outgoing. There just doesn't seem to be much humility about her and Jay Z. Plus I don't really agree with bringing her daughter onstage for no good reason.

sockarefootwear · 30/09/2024 12:02

I have very good reasons for most of the celebs I can't stand (Russell Brand etc).

However, I have recently gone from loving Daisy May Cooper to feeling an irrational sense of dislike for her, after reading her autobiography. I found the book very funny and enjoyed reading it. But it's clear from her book that as a teen she was definitely one of the 'cool kids' and in an alternate universe where we were at school together we would not have been friends. For some reason, it appears that subconsciously I had assumed that she would have been an awkward teenager like me and in the fictional world where we were at school together we would have been best mates. So despite her being talented and having clearly overcome lots of disadvantages etc, I find myself feeling that she has somehow let me down by being cool at school. This is clearly a 'me problem'!

In a similar vein, I can't watch Ant and Dec without wanting to throw something at the TV. Not because it's crap, but because Ant looks and speaks like a bloke I once knew who had a fling with a mate of mine when he was also engaged to another woman who was also lovely (promising to leave his girlfriend etc).
