Buying gifts for NHS nurse

There is a nurse who has been involved in my daughter's care for over a year and has almost become like a friend to the family. She has been amazing and given us all tremendous support.

Unfortunately she is leaving her job position but I wanted to show her how grateful and appreciative we are for what she has done. I would like to buy her a gift but can NHS nurses accept gifts from patients and their family?

We’ve sent in flowers and biscuits before. I’d suggest something like this plus a card or letter.

Only small gifts are allowed - biscuits, chcolate, flowers or similar would be OK.

If she's going to a similar NHS job then a thank you card, detailing some of the things you particularly appreciated, might be something she can use in her annual evaluation even though it's for a previous post.

Thank you both, I will stick to those sorts of gifts and also a nice card. I wasn't sure whether they were allowed to accept flowers or chocolates.

A thank you letter or card detailing what she’s done or helped with would be much appreciated for when she comes to revalidate
