Rude staff member @ Specsavers

Not sure what I want out of this post but I'm still angry/upset.

I went into Specsavers today to have my glasses adjusted. I have a tiny head and the glasses were falling off. One of the girls adjusted them twice and said they were perfect. They were still sliding all over the place so I asked (nicely) if they could be adjusted a little bit more.

Next thing I know I've got another woman who works there stomping around the corner snapping at me saying "put these on. They fit perfectly and if you go any tighter then your ears will hurt" I said I like them quite tight so could I have them a bit tighter please. She was quite aggressive with me in front of a load of people and said "your ears are going to hurt but whatever", she huffed and stomped off again. Brought them back and with an attitude said "are they alright now?!". I said yes and thanked her and she just walked off, no acknowledgment at all.

I was so shocked that I didn't know what to say. I left but I came back in and told her she'd been really rude etc and that I'd be making a complaint. She said "I apologise if you thought I came across rude".

What on earth even happened there?! I hadn't seen her before and she came straight over with an attitude. I can only assume the other girl had gone to her and said she'd adjusted twice but I wasn't happy or something! I'm not a rude person at all. I'm giggly and smily and definitely wouldn't have come across as rude when asking her to adjust them further. I'm so annoyed arg.

I wonder if it’s the same woman who used to work in our local Vision Express - she was unbelievably rude too. I’d put a complaint into head office, I’m sure they’ll be able to arrange some customer care training for her. She didn’t come across as rude, she was rude, and there was absolutely no need for it.

You told her she was rude, she apologised that should be enough. We all have off days this was clearly one of hers?!

You may be able to access a feedback form on the Specsavers website….

@Walkingwithdinosaurs she didn't really apologise though. She said "I apologise it you thought I was rude", or something along those lines.

I appreciate we all have bad days but to basically have a go at me in front of customers because I wanted to sort my glasses out...

"I'm sorry if the thing I did made you feel..." sounds like a non-apology. My local Specsavers' staff are brilliant, and I'd be very disappointed to hear them talk to me or my daughter like that.

I think they might be totally overwhelmed with work. This happened to me in Boots once, and I moved to a more expensive private opticians firm and they are always nice.

This sentence is absolute comedy gold and I love it. You have a fantastic turn of phrase. "I have a tiny head and the glasses were falling off. "
