Family fall out- cancelling baby 1st birthday

Hi all
Advice needed.
Recently had a family fall out and it's babies first birthday in 2 weeks. We had a venue booked but now I want to cancel as it's the second event for baby which has been ruined by bd family.

Long story short- my sister made a comment over how food was being served. Which was then quashed as my sister and sister in law started to quibble and both wanted the last word. The sister in law then came up to my face and then shouted if more people helped there would be more food. We had already at this point asked if we can help but was told no room.

Anyway this then led to me loosing my temper and raising my voice to her and everyone heard. I have since apologied via text but she has not yet apologied to me for triggering me. I have also acknowledged my behaviour

Bd still wants to do birthday party- I no longer part of his family after the way they have treated me. (Have missed parts)

Thought to go ahead or no!

Actually it's the first time I shouted. And instantly regretted it. Just felt like it was the only should would shut up. But at the same time ruined my baby's event.

This was recent? And that was an event for your baby? And you are having another family event for your baby very soon?

What in the Jeremy Kyle? And you’ve booked a venue for a first birthday? God hope it includes a boxing ring by the sound of it

🤣🤣🤣

What was the previous event for baby

Bandwaggon · 25/01/2024 21:50

The baby will not give a shit either way as long as there's no shouting.

I've nothing to add but I'm home alone, bored, and this thread is making me laugh.

Just immediate family as it sounds like it will be like Shameless if you have the whole family. Post photos if you do. Really just do low key or else it will escalate and not about your little one's day at all.

I think the OP and her family make Shameless look like Downton Abbey!

I'm weirdly drawn in and want to know what the other event was.

Who was catering it?

How are you catering for your baby's birthday party ?

Is your child's father currently your partner ?

I’m going to suggest the party went ahead at the venue as planned, but after a few cans of lager it all kicked off and the family now feature on an episode of Police Interceptors!
