Over generous gift

We regularly exchange Christmas gifts for the children of another family that we are very close to. We've never discussed how much we spend but I usually aim for £15-£20 per child and have got the impression they do the same. We each have 3 DC.

This year I have done the same as usual but they have given our children a voucher for an experience day worth well over £100. I'm quite embarrassed by this generosity but not sure what to do, other than say thank you.

I don't want our exchange of gifts to increase to this level so should I say something or just offer a normal thank you and effectively just ignore it?

I'd just say thank you & carry on as normal in future. They might have got it on something like a Black Friday deal & it's not cost as much as you think

sounds like a regift to me

thank them very much

and crack on as normal next year

Could easily be a regift or purchased with a discount. Experience vouchers especially the Virgin ones recently - my inbox was being regularly spammed with them in the past month.

Just carry on as you have done in the past.

Hope you have a lovely day

It could be a regift or a deal they got. I'd thank them and Continue as normal.
