And if so, how's your reception?

(because mine is really poor, constant electronic stutter, frequent cut-outs etc. i'm trying to work out if this is common or, more likely, a problem with my radio set)

where are you?

we had one (I'm in London) that worked brilliantly if it was in the front of the house (we're in terraced two up two down houses) but if I put it in the kitchen (at the back) it hardly worked at all and the only place I really wanted it was in the kitchen!

Next door had a lot of steel supports put in their house when they did building work (at the back) and apparently, this really affects the signal you can receive. It certainly seems to be true in our case because if you walk outside, the signal is fine!

We took our digital radio back and changed it for a 'normal' one.

By the way, there is a website where you type in your postcode and it shows (theoretically) what stations you can receive and how strong your signal should be.

we have one and the reception is great. We live in East London, couldn't not get a normal radio reception in our kitchen due to all the pirate radio stations, but the digital is brill.

we're in n london. the reception is bad all over the house. found the postcode checker thanks Fox but it says we should be fine. grr. the steel beam thing may be a factor here, too.

yes I must admit, I was totally p*ssed off when I realised it wasn't going to work because the stations I could get (at the front of the house) were great. I'm sure it was entirely the steel thing.

it's not quite as straightforward as one is led to believe, is it?
pah!

I won't completely bore you to death (I hope!) but I was told that you can get an aerial fixed to the outside of your house that will enable you to get digital radio throughout (if you are in a poor reception patch for whatever reason).

But the amount of hassle that would involve completely put me off the whole idea. Besides, I can get loads of them through our Sky digital box but just not in the place that I want them to be. ggrrrr

I have one and reception is perfect on it, anywhere in my house. I couldn't get reception at all on a normal radio, we live in a bit of a depression in the landscape.
