Urgent! Ideas needed for fancy dress party today!

Ds1 has a cub's party tonight. It is fancy dress, the theme being pantomime characters. I can't think of any characters ds would want to dress up as, but thought he might pass muster as a pirate (Captain Hook, Long John Silver, that sort of thing.)

However, I am useless at dressing up ideas. He would need a black patch over one eye, and possibly a parrot on shoulder (he can borrow a fluffy toucan of his mother's) but what else should I do to make him look like a pirate? Silver hook for hand? Would welly boots be right? What else?

Jeans, slightly too short. Wellies are good. Scarf round head if you don't have a pirate hat. I also used a chiffon scarf as a belt for DS2-as-pirate recently.

What sort of top? Would a stripey one do?

Stripey or even a plain white shirt with a chiffon scarf round his neck

Fake stubble

Have you got a pair of clip-on hoop earrings that he could wear one of?

and large sword thing (only if you feel weapons are appropriate)
or a moustache

Fake stubble! How do you do that? Not sure I have clip on earrings but I will look.

eyeliner pencil rather than taking cat fluff and a pitt stick

Doh Pritt stick..please don't stock cat fluff on anyone with deodorant

Maybe you could use kitchen foil to cover a cardboard hook or sword, how about mums makeup for stubble effect/scar effect?

you could also tuck black (school) trousers into pulled up football socks and make big cardboard and tinfoil buckles and fit on top of plymsoles (with elastic)Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Wouldn't you just know it, ds has come home from school saying he doesn't want to dress up after all (it didn't seem his thing I must admit). But maybe someone else will use these lovely ideas.

Doesn't Want to?
Force him

He ended up not going at all! He wouldn't wear fancy dress, so I sent him upstairs to get changed and he found his cub uniform was in the wash and said he wouldn't go at all if he couldn't wear his uniform, even though I explained that no-one would be wearing uniform! I do worry about him sometimes.
