Did you get your Baby Einstein DVD's on Ebay from Bjsdvds?

I have just paid £20.99 for them too, but am a bit worried now as Bjsdvds dont seem to have had any feedback as a seller - only as a buyer. Tell me I've not been had? I did pay be Paypal.

conatct the people it tells you to contact - but start with your bank and see if the payment has gone out

Peckarollover · 14/12/2004 15:55

Ive reported him via ebay - fingers crossed

Thecattlearemerloting · 14/12/2004 16:43

I've just got the same email from ebay. I will start proceedings too. Keep me posted Peckarollover. Hadn't noticed the sellers name before

Ive had a reply and they are basically asking me to get in touch with MR BJ or file a complaint with Squaretrade.

Ive emailed BJSDVDS asking for confirmation of a refund by Thursday or I will take it further with Ebay, Paypal and Squaretrade. Im not hopeful of a response!

Peckarollover · 14/12/2004 17:34

Just had bounce back from the email - no such email address user unknown!

Thecattlearemerloting · 14/12/2004 19:25

I've forwarded the notification from Ebay to him, saying that I shall now be seeking to have my money refunded by PayPal and he replied with.

The item has already been sent and you should receive it tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

The Email adds I used was Rizwan Saleem [[email protected]]

Another email adds I have for him is:-
[email protected]

OP posts:
Thecattlearemerloting · 14/12/2004 19:27

I think that first e-mail should have been
[email protected]

Good Luck!

Just have to apologise ladies for being flippant earlier (only cos I know pecka in RL!)
This would make me livid1
hope it all gets sorted

pixiefish · 14/12/2004 19:39

if you don't get the stuff tomorrow then i'd contact paypal and try to get your money back- they'll try and do a chargeback on his credit card which means that paypal will hold the money until the issue is resolved.
one problem you may have is if he's done this for a fast buck then he may have cancelled his credit cards etc and paypal may be unable to chargeback. However- it does take 7 days for the money to go from paypal to his bank account- if you move before the 7 days is up then they'll be able to reverse the transaction before the money gets into his account IYSWIM

Peckarollover · 14/12/2004 19:52

Thats promising that the stuff might come but on the other hand its been pulled from ebay because the goods are dodgy!

What do we do then

Thecattlearemerloting · 14/12/2004 19:59

If the stuff comes tomorrow and it is alright then I will leave it. If it doesnt come or it comes and its useless then I'll be straight on to Paypal.

I know we were foolish , but I think its ridiculous giving Paypal status to someone who has never had any feedback for selling.

OP posts:
popsycal · 14/12/2004 20:00

what did they say was 'dodgy' and how did they find out

Thecattlearemerloting · 14/12/2004 20:24

Dont know popsycal. I just got the same email as Peckarollover - see post below about intellectual property rights. Sounds like something to do with copyright?

Peckarollover that email adds is supposed to say

fastunderscoreasunderscorehell. For some reason it keeps altering the place of the underscore.

OP posts:
popsycal · 14/12/2004 20:26

cos tyoing underscore around a word underlines it

Thecattlearemerloting · 14/12/2004 20:38

Thanks Popsy

merlot- paypal isn't a status- its only a way of banking, same as a credit card and all you have to give is bank details and credit card details. Next time have a look at his feedback rather than anything else.
Don't let this put you off ebay though.
If the goods arrive and they're still dodgy then contact paypal and complain and they'll do the chargeback thing and get your money back for you- that's the thing with paypal, it's the same as a credit card in that it does give some protection

Thecattlearemerloting · 14/12/2004 20:59

Pixiefish, you're quite right - realize I was bl**dy stupid . Funny thing is I was so busy comparing prices/sellers and examining their feedback that he somehow slipped through the net. This will be a lesson to me to be super careful next time.

Always had good experiences of ebay in the past, so I wont let it put me off

What I meant about Paypal is that, when you read the blurb, they make a point of saying that they only allow Sellers to have Paypal if they have a high degree of positive feedback. Thing is, there doesn't appear to be a minimum number for feedbacks. For example if the seller only makes 5 transactions and 4 of them are good they get pay pal. Also couldn't believe they give them Paypal when they have never had any selling feedback (doesnt seem a good underwriting ploy)iyswim. Sorry to waffle. Trying to excuse my extreme stupidity!

The only problem there is that how do honest traders get trading. Also- if you'd sent a cheque off to him... it really would be bye bye money- paypal is safer in that they can go after the money for you but if it was just a cheque... that's gone- so you weren't silly enough to send a cheque off to him were you you used a trusted payment method which has a protection policy for the buyer . don't feel silly- it's bad luck more than anything- let us know if they arrive today-

did you know that you can ask ebay for this persons contact details- go to 'advanced search'- (blue writing top right hand corner) once there - on the left of the page there's an orange box- in the orange box there's a hyperlink- find contact information- if you click there and then you have to enter his user id and the item number- ebay will then email you with his contact details and you can phone him if you want.

popsycal · 15/12/2004 08:53

oooh phone him!!!!!
and post his number on here

Thecattlearemerloting · 15/12/2004 09:21

Will watch and wait....No sign of the postie yet...

OP posts:
Thecattlearemerloting · 15/12/2004 12:26

Hurray! . They have arrived and are fab!

Even though they came from Mr - Not a dirty dvd in sight - apart from a rubberduck bouncing up and down in the bath to Mozart

Hope you get yours Pecky. I've only checked 3 of the dvd's - but at that price I'm already quids in.

They are obviously chinese versions (but made for the English market - great quality though). Other sellers are clearly selling the same thing though, so wonder why they haven't been withdrawn?

OP posts:
pixiefish · 15/12/2004 15:24

super news merlot- after all that worry you got a good result.

Ebay don't police their site very well- they leave it up to other traders to report violations- hence people get away with these things until someone complains- that's the answer to your question- no one's complained to ebay

Thecattlearemerloting · 15/12/2004 16:16

Absolutely Pixie. Confidence newly renewed in Ebay - any other good offers out there atm?
