How to get rid of cushions - is landfill the only option?

I have a pile of cushions I no longer need. Some are pretty flat and hopeless. I can wash the covers and give to the charity shop, but not sure what to do with the cushion pads themselves. Any ideas gratefully appreciated, otherwise I guess they’ll have to go to the tip (where I understand they have to go into general rubbish not recyclable etc)

Local dog kennels will probably take them.

Put 2 in one cover and new cushions.

Freecycle?

Thanks. Have tried local kennels who are not interested. Will have a go at freecyxle. But really the flat ones are just flat and even doubled up won’t be plump. Just thicker and hard. Thanks

Do your charity shops not take the whole cushions? Ours do.

No they won't. It needs to be properly washable, and they aren't.

Dunelm recycle textiles and home furnishings.

MsPrism · 15/05/2023 18:36

My local dunelm recycles duvets/visions etc or your local tip might recycle textiles?

gotmychristmasmiracle · 15/05/2023 19:09

Just charity shop them, sure someone can reuse them or put them on a free Facebook page, someone might find a use for them

SarahSmith2023 · 15/05/2023 19:11

Kennels might not take them, but our vet takes pretty much any cushions/pillows etc etc

Or looks like Dunelm is a good option if you have one locally.
