One of my crappy holiday jobs was in Millers pork pie factory - they also did sausages and scotch eggs. You had to wear boiler suits, rubber shoes (not unlike an early version of a croc I might add), and plastic covers over the shoes - as you entered the factory you almost slip up on the inch thick layer of lard which covered the entire floor. I was on cold pie packing - had to take them off this conveyor belt as they were wrapped and pack them in boxes. I sometimes couldn't keep up though and they were rolling all over the floor cartoon style. The M & S pies were the same as the tesco value pies too. The people working there were really odd, especially the night shift and the biggest aspiration was to make it to sausage seasoning which was the pinnacle of jobs in the factory. I left after one too many incidents of the floor manager rubbing up behind me when I was packing pies.

I used to work in a pizza take away shop as a student. The owner was this sleazy Arab guy who used to say things like "let her stand by the oven, she might get hot and take all her clothes off". On my last day he gave me a valedictory slap on the arse.

Oh God,this thread has bought back some horrible memories.

The jeans shop I worked in as a 17 year old.They put me in the menswear dept & EVERY man who came in claimed that he didn't know his inside leg measurement & could I measure it?

The call centre where I was the only non Urdu speaker & was completely ignored by the other staff.

The office job with the sexist,racist boss who used to throw things at me & threaten me.

The dept store where men used to come & jerk off in the ladies underwear dept.

Even when I went self employed,I was stalked by an ancient lech who hinted that if I was hard up,he would pay me lots of money to have sex with him.I will NEVER be that hard up,believe me.

Some of the stuff I see and hear, and have directed at me, as well as just in passing, still make me cringe! The joys of prison work!

I have so many memories.
The supermarket where I worked as a Saturday girl and the butchery department staff were all barking mad psychos who chased each other round their workroom brandishing meat cleavers. I was convinced one of them was going to lock me in the walk-in freezer.
The laundry where I worked as a student with a sex mad maintenance man who regularly lay on the floor pretending to fix the ironing rollers but in reality was looking up the skirts of our extremely flimsy overalls.
Top of the list must be my time in the police, where so many hilarious things happened but the Official Secrets act forbids me from telling them

I was working late one night and observed the big boss going in and out of our main office area, over and over, muttering and in a huff. Finally asked her what was wrong, she said she'd been waiting for a fax and it wasn't coming through, and the guy on the other end kept swearing he'd sent it through at least three times. I had to point out that she was, in fact, checking the office laser printer. The fax machine was in another room. She didn't appreciate it.
