I'm sure I've seen other threads on this, but can't find them. I have about 5 billion people to buy for and need to shop online. Links to sites or those other threads would be appreciated! I had planned to print photos onto teatowels or something, but not sure I have the time, or that printing onto teatowels is a good idea.

Oh I did find one thread recommending pedlars.co.uk - excellent recommendation, but I needsimilar stuff only cheaper!

hmmmm

marks and spencer has some nice stuff in their sale, there are a couple of threads on it. I got a really nice foam moulded bathpillow (perfect for female rellys) for just £3 which i have added some nice but inexpensive lavender bathfoam to. total cost £5 but it looks far more like £10-15 even if i do say so myself!! will link if i can find it , if not do s earch for m and s and my name!!

other ideas..... i found hawkins quite good, Got some nice seedsticks for just £2.50/5, just plant and go (hawkin.com).

Trying to think now...

datoys.co.uk are good fro bargin toys.

if i can think of any more will post again!!

acnebride · 05/12/2004 21:34

my fave as on other threads is \link{http://www.hawkin.co.uk\Hawkins Bazaar}

katzguk · 05/12/2004 21:40

here's an idea:
\link{http://www.marksandspencer.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=3379&Product_Id=1272563\bath}

at only £2.50 (think orginally £10 everythings been reduced twice) then a sponge and some bubblebath and maybe a bathbomb. Would look great

katzguk · 05/12/2004 21:41

A few novelty sites for you, SP:

\link{http://totally-funky.co.uk/\totally funky}
\link{http://www.xjdesign.co.uk/agfcshop/eshop/shopindex.html\a gift from china} (Rhubarb's charity site)
\link{http://www.wahmall.co.uk/auction/directory.php?page=ac_template_directory.html\wahmall} (work at home women and artisans)
\link{http://www.aquarterof.co.uk/index.php?osCsid=fc20b61bf9f9a7e6e1dcfd1dc3c27a01\a quarter of} (old fashioned sweetshop sweets)
\link{http://www.gadgethub.co.uk/Default.asp\gadgethub}

No idea who you're buying for but HTH!

TinselTamum · 05/12/2004 22:42

I guess you've seen this before as I think it was me who recommended pedlars, but if you have anyone techy to buy for, or any photography enthusiasts then \link{http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=777\7 day shop} is a real treasure-trove of unusual stuff that is very cheap. Not remotely like pedlars though. You've undoubtedly tried \link{http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/frameset.asp\The Book People}? Brilliant if they happen to have the right kind of thing in stock (Times Atlas of the World £15 instead of £60, for example, though it's out of stock at the moment). I'll keep thinking meanwhile!

TinselTamum · 05/12/2004 22:49

There's also \link{http://www.traidcraftshop.co.uk/\Traidcraft} and \link{http://www.bishopstontrading.co.uk/\Bishopston Trading}, which I love. It's mainly clothes but they do some nice unusual accessories and the prices are pretty good. (stop me if I'm boring you :o)

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 05/12/2004 23:11

There are lots of 3 for 2s on toys at ToysRUs (you don't have to buy the same pressie, but stick to the same brand) and there is a sale on at Argos if you need pressies for kids.

Chuffingoodtime · 06/12/2004 12:40

We used \link{http://www.promotional-goods.org.uk/Personal/gifts.htm\here for some funky printing. We did the teatowels for the grandparents and they came within a week.

Chuffingoodtime · 06/12/2004 12:41

Oops try again

SenoraPostrophe · 08/12/2004 22:15

chuffinggoodtime - sorry, didn't see this before.

What was the print quality like and did theywash OK (that's what's putting me off the tea towel option).

SenoraPostrophe · 08/12/2004 22:21

also tinsel tamum - you're not boring me! Bishopston don't appear to sell online though. I have a few ideas now:

mum - novelty ashtray
mil - novelty ashtray
sis1, bro1, bro2 - books

still stuck for grandparents, sis2, and non-smoking members of the family. If only we didn't have a new business to keep afloat - I'd have a bigger budget.

blueteddy · 08/12/2004 22:29

I have found a great website that sell everything at bargin prices.
It is www.bargincrazy.com.
I bought my ds2 a fimbles trike that cost £11.99 rather than £29.99 & some diesel trainers 4 dh that had £50 off.
It sells toys, clothes, shoes & jewellery.

JanH · 08/12/2004 22:29

How about socks? Can't go wrong with socks. I love socks and nobody ever buys me any.

SenoraPostrophe · 08/12/2004 22:33

What colour would you like, Jan?

OP posts:
JanH · 08/12/2004 22:35

Ooooooo - anything! Orange? Lime green? Black? Shocking pink? I just love new socks. Should I get shrunk do you think?

SenoraPostrophe · 08/12/2004 22:37

Actually my best prezzie 2 years ago was my stripey socks (you saw them - do you remember?). My sis is way too stylish for that kind of thing though!

OP posts:
TinselTamum · 08/12/2004 22:40

Would your sis like a notebook or photoalbum? \link{http://www.coconutshy.com/main.htm\Coconutshy} has very nice ones. Boy are you going to wish you had told me I was boring you :o (sorry about Bishopston Trading BTW, I get a catalogue so I was forgetting abou tthe online bit)

popsycal · 08/12/2004 22:41

oooh i have got stuff from coconut shy...gorgeous

TinselTamum · 08/12/2004 22:47

It's a lovely site isn't it, popsycal? I stumbled on them completely by accident through some random search and have never met anyone else who's heard of them! They're nice to deal with, too.
