Hi all,
Got a issue with my new neighbours who recently moved in next door to us. My partner and I don't drive and the neighbours has decided to park in the shared car park bang in the middle. We decided not to say anything about it yet.

I have family and friends visiting at a regular basis, and have to park else where or the next street, due to cheeky Fucker parking his crappy car in the middle of the shared car park, and can't park their car in our allocated space which is rightfully ours.

I sent them a note last week, stating that it's a shared drive and please could they be a bit more considerate in how they park their car, as my friends and family would like to park in my space and not in another street 5 minutes away.

They obviously recieved the note and taken no notice and now parking the car length ways as spite.

I have tried to speak to them, but they never answer the door.

I have sent another note sent, stating I will be speaking to their landlord and Estate agent they have rented the property from.

I have uploaded a diagram, so you get a better picture.

I hope the girlfriend sees this thread as I heard she's a mumsnetter.

Sorry it's a parking thread

A nice row of plants in narrow containers down your side of the space should sort that out.

I’d block them in next time and have them come to you when the need out.

Greet them with ‘oh I’m glad you’re hear to talk about the parking situation, I’ve been trying to reach you’

Plant pots. With bricks in the bottom. Nice sizeable ones

Two options, 1- Bang on their door for a good five minutes every time it happens and make them move it.

2- Borrow a friends car for a few days and park it like they do when they’re out.

How do you know the GF is a Mumsnetter when they've only just moved in??

Pinkfluffyslippers23 · 22/01/2023 17:48

Some good advice thanks everyone.
One of my neighbours who knows her from school mentioned it to me.

Weird thing to mention. Apart from DH nobody knows I'm on MN and I've been using it well over 20 years.

kitsuneghost · 22/01/2023 17:56

Option 1. Have a friend visit at 3am and chap them up. Repeat nightly.
Option 2. Get someone going away for the weekend to block them in

Take some pics and then contact the letting agent or landlord directly. Say you've asked them politely to keep to one space and they're now parking lengthways out of spite. Landlord won't want a neighbour dispute on his or her hands I'm sure.

Penguin bollards

Pinkfluffyslippers23 · 22/01/2023 21:28

Will look into Penguin bollards thanks
Thanks again everyone who's commented.

They're renting. Go to the landlord. Dont play any games. The landlord doesnt want neighbour disputes. Just email the landlord and estate agent tonight.

chocolateisavegetable · 22/01/2023 21:41

Pinkfluffyslippers23 · 22/01/2023 21:42

Can you friends park at the bottom of the driveway or are there yellow lines?
Id be telling them to block him in every time they come.
It totally unnecessary of him to park like that!

Pinkfluffyslippers23 · 22/01/2023 21:56

There are white lines at the bottom of the car park spaces, yes might have to block them in.

Yes I also know a few local football clubs.
