I have tingly breasts, faint nausea, bloating etc. My period was due today but i am not regular so its not unusual for it not to arrived even for 6 months to a year. I am 100% not pregnant but did a test this morning incase of a miracle and
It was negative. Could this be the menapause? I know i am young but its possible?

those could also be pre-menstrual symptoms!

I'm lucky that i don't get symptoms when i'm due on, i just wake up and its there! I do get stomach cramps when i've been on a few days but other than that nothing. Thank you for replying

Have you seen the doctor about your infrequent periods? There are many different reasons that you may have missed or frequently miss periods and only one of them is premature menopause. The symptoms that you describe could apply to almost all of them. I would see a gp if you are worried about it - the one at the bottom "polycystic ovaries" is quite common for instance...

from net doctor:

Why do some women's periods stop altogether (amenorrhoea)?

Periods can stop for a number of reasons. The most common are:

pregnancy.

premature menopause (this can affect women in their early twenties).

weight loss.

weight gain.

some forms of medication including the contraceptive pill or injections.

drug abuse.

stress.

hormonal imbalances such as an underactive thyroid gland or the overproduction of a hormone called prolactin.

a condition called polycystic ovaries (see below) is a very common cause of irregular or absent periods.

Thanks. I have seen a gyn in the past and have had tests etc. I rarely Ovulate and have low hormone levels which is why i don't have periods very often. I was 22 before i had a proper period (ie lasting 5 days) although i concieved both my children naturally it took years of trying. I have never been regular and have about 3 periods a year.

Having read through the link i have an awful lot of the symptoms but on the other hand they are quite vague symptoms which could apply to alot of tired parents. I think i will give it a week and make an appointment with the gp for a blood test.

SG, deffo see your Dr as despite having your kids and childlessness not being an issue, there are other health risks of POF which are increased risk of osteoporosis, heart disease and stroke. If it is POF, you would need to consider eliminating risk/HRT. I only know this cos a friend has POF, she is older than you but had symptoms in her early 20s.
